I don't know why people struggle with this concept. The @SFGiants lineup is and will be fine, it failed this year because of injuries and terrible pitching knocking them out of games early. The off-season priorities should be simple: 1. Lineup: get everyone healthy, make Adames workout with Wash to sharpen his glove and Bonds/Clark to recalibrate his bat. Keep Cox full time as starting CF, 2B or both. Give Schmitt LF or 2B. 2. Rotation: Lock down three starters to secure the rotation for the future. We only have one ranked pitching prospect (Flora), the others are far below expectations. Sign Skubal and Hiromi Itoh as 1 and 4 starters, and trade for Joe Ryan as a 3rd (don't deal from top 4-5 prospects, JR only has a year of control left, trade then extend 4-5 years). 3. Bullpen: Go after Morejon as a SU8 guy, take a flier on Graterol as a MID, and see if the there's a dominant closer worth trading for that won't take any of our top prospects to get. Maybe Mason Montgomery for PIT?
