60 years on.
No criminal prosecutions were ever brought over the Aberfan disaster that killed 116 children and 28 adults.
Villagers called Lord Robens and National Coal Board “murderers”.
Today, we still see wicked lack of accountability over rape gangs, Nottingham murders, maternity scandals.

Such a beautifully written & deeply moving article, Allison. Thank you for the dignified & sensitive way you told my dad’s story, for taking the time to meet him, listening to his memories & above all, for doing such wonderful justice to his story. I shall treasure your article.
I was in tears yesterday talking to Leonard Moss. He was a 22–year-old nurse who offered to help when a tip fell on a school in Aberfan killing 116 children.
Leonard washed the children’s faces “so their mum and dad could give them a kiss goodbye”. Heartbreaking.
Aberfan was a man-made disaster. Coal production mattered more than safety. The National Coal Board gambled with children’s lives - and lost.
There were no criminal prosecutions. Zero accountability for killing 116 mixed infants - we see the same incompetence and villainy still thriving today in the Post Office scandal, rape gangs, infected blood, maternity deaths, Nottingham murders.
Many in the village had survivor’s guilt - only the guilty men didn’t suffer guilt.
Ordinary men and women, despised and treated appallingly by the state - £50 compensation per child? - were responsible for many acts of quiet heroism on that darkest of days.
Read about it here. 👇

It’s odd that it’s quicker to view #Adobe on #Chrome than it is on Adobe! Also we really hate the way all the buttons have Arabic on them after an update - and we have to use AI to guide us to a solution for a company based on the UK.

Not content with dumping crap all over Wales Welsh Water now wants to dump a load of sh*t on its workforce.
