The IAEA has been informed that the cooling tower of a reactor unit of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in the Russian Federation was hit by a drone early on Thursday. It was reported that the unit was operating at the time, but its operating mode did not change and there was no fire.
DG @rafaelmgrossi says all attacks on nuclear facilities are unacceptable as they could endanger nuclear safety and security, irrespective of where they occur.
DG Grossi also reiterates call for maximum military restraint to prevent the risk of a nuclear accident.

NEW: 🇺🇸 The FBI says it has disrupted a Russian Intelligence Services network accused of planning assassinations, sabotage and attacks inside the United States and abroad.
According to the indictment, the network is an arm of the Russian Federation’s apparatus for conducting external attacks, including murder, targeting Russian dissidents and defectors and, more recently, countries perceived as supporting Ukraine.
The FBI says three defendants are high-ranking members of the network: Yuri Khrameev, described as a former Russian intelligence colonel; his son Kirill Khrameev, identified as an FSB officer; and Oemis Romagoza Durruthy, a Cuban national living in Russia who allegedly coordinated operations for the network.
Prosecutors say the network most recently recruited people inside the United States to conduct surveillance and potentially murder a prominent Russian dissident.
According to the indictment, recruiters offered a U.S.-based individual $40,000 to eliminate or disappear the target, after first paying them to conduct surveillance and photograph locations connected to the victim. The recruiters allegedly discussed finding someone else to carry out the killing, including individuals they claimed were in Mexico.
The indictment also describes an earlier operation targeting a person in Lithuania. A U.S. citizen was allegedly offered $25,000 to carry out the murder. After refusing, they were allegedly offered alternative assignments, including setting fire to a warehouse or attacking an electrical substation with an incendiary device, with the stated objective of targeting countries supporting Ukraine.
The network is also accused of coordinating operations in Czech Republic and Lithuania, including arranging travel, identifying potential targets and providing logistical support.
The five defendants face federal charges including conspiracy to finance terrorism, while three face an additional conspiracy charge involving murder for hire.

BREAKING: 🇵🇱 Polish military has located and recovered a drone from the Baltic Sea near the beach in Rusinowo, close to Jarosławiec.
Preliminary examination indicates the drone is a Russian-origin military UAV. Authorities are currently securing the site.

AI USED TO SUPPORT MISSILE DEVELOPMENT IN YEMEN
Anthropic says it uncovered a northern Yemen-based group using Claude to assist with missile and rocket development, including guidance and navigation software.
The group reportedly worked on a ballistic missile with a claimed 2,000+ km range and conducted a live rocket test, though Anthropic found no evidence that the effort produced an operational weapon.

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon says the U.S. needs consistently higher economic growth to sustain its current levels of government spending and debt. He argues that faster growth can expand the economy relative to its debt burden, helping improve fiscal sustainability.

- Anthropic AI researcher Jacob Coxon wrote on X, after resigning Tuesday to sound the alarm: "The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger."

I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to."

Calling this unprecedented would be a gross understatement. You basically have the fastest-growing companies in human history warning their products could harm or even destroy humanity.

But we've been talking with dozens of people inside these companies for months, and they've sounded increasingly spooked and concerned. Given they see models not yet released to the public, it seems reckless not to take them seriously.

✅ FACT: No U.S. Navy warship has been struck; all IRGC attempted attacks failed. Meanwhile, U.S. forces have successfully destroyed 10 Iranian tankers in just the last week. These vessels were part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network that funds the IRGC, and Iran cannot defend them.
