The big reason is the outstanding ballot pool: Mississippi officials say about 3,600 absentee-by-mail ballots could still arrive within the legal window, plus an unknown number of affidavit ballots that counties may process during certification. If that lead survives the next batches, this would be an historic Mississippi Senate flip.

Maine and Texas both flipped. Troy Jackson unseated five-term Republican Susan Collins here in Maine, and James Talarico beat Ken Paxton in Texas. Democrats have won back the U.S. Senate. The wild part? Neither state had elected a Democrat to the U.S. Senate since 1988. Talarico hadn’t even been born. Both 38-year streaks ended on the same night.

Troy Jackson has overtaken Susan Collins and now leads by 30,278 votes. At 12:14 a.m. ET, Decision Desk HQ had Jackson at 255,585 (52.54%) and Collins at 225,307 (46.32%), with 65% of Maine’s estimated vote in. Collins had led by 4,172 just 42 minutes earlier.

Susan Collins’ lead over Troy Jackson was cut in half in 11 minutes. At 11:32 p.m., just 4,172 votes separated them, with only 46% of Maine’s vote in. My bet? Wednesday before we get a call. Gorham said its hand count would keep its results out until early Wednesday. South of Augusta is Jackson!

🇵🇱 POLAND REINFORCES ITS RUSSIAN BORDER. GROM INVOLVEMENT CONFIRMED. Poland is taking no chances with intelligence warnings of sabotage and possible armed incursions. The Polish government confirms that GROM special forces, counterterrorism personnel, police and Border Guard officers are part of a coordinated security operation in the northeast, following warnings from Polish and allied intelligence services. Overnight into November 3, guards spotted people carrying flashlights on the Russian side of the border. Polish forces responded quickly. But the facts matter: The Border Guard says no crossing was attempted. The individuals’ identities and intentions remain unconfirmed. Tusk said the response may have prevented a provocation, “if that was the intention.” That qualification cannot be stripped out of the story. Poland’s military also describes the special forces’ activity as training with police and other Polish units. Their presence does not establish that GROM fought Russian infiltrators. The serious development is that intelligence warnings have prompted a coordinated security response involving some of Poland’s most capable forces. A Russia–NATO battle has not been publicly established. Poland does not have to wait for an attack before taking its border security seriously.

ZELENSKYY KEEPS ASKING TRUMP TO LIFT STARSHIELD RESTRICTIONS. UKRAINE NEEDS AN ANSWER. Zelenskyy says he has raised this with Trump three or four times. His argument is simple: Ukraine cannot depend on an endless supply of Patriot interceptors that nobody has. Help Ukraine destroy the launchers before they fire. Expanded Starshield access could help support the communications and control links Ukrainian forces need to find, track and strike Russian ballistic-missile launchers. Not a magic solution. Not a replacement for Patriot. Another way to stop Russian missiles from ever reaching Ukrainian skies. Every missile stopped before launch is one less Ukraine has to try to intercept, and one less threat to a home, a hospital or a power station. Ukraine needs defenses against missiles already airborne and the ability to destroy the launchers on the ground. Both. Full stop. Russia keeps attacking Ukrainian cities and the power grid as winter approaches. Families should not have to gamble their lives on whether enough interceptors are left for the next barrage. Lift the restrictions. Give Ukraine the tools. Make Russia worry about losing its launchers not Ukrainians about losing their children!!!
