The Steel Guitar Podcast from @fbjournal just released an interview with me that I'm really proud of. If you're curious about the Electrosteel or my work as a composer/instrument designer, listen to it! Thanks to Matt Perpick for a rollicking interview. sites.libsyn.com/482460/jeff…

Getting close to finishing a run of 8 more Electrosteel prototypes to add to the 2 I've already built. In a couple of weeks, I should be ready to send them out to some players to get feedback. Can't wait to hear what people think of them!

A nice article from Peter Kirn of @cdmblogs about the Spectraphon!
. @makenoisemusic brings @tomerbe's soundhack spectral ideas to a dual oscillator: Spectraphon. cdm.link/2023/05/make-noise-… With Jeff Snyder of @Snyderphonics too.

Today @makenoisemusic released a harmonic, waveshaping, fm, spectral table oscillator/processor called the Spectraphon! I collaborated on the hardware design for this with @rolando_vision, and @tomerbe did the firmware and dreamed it up. We are so excited about this!

new look for Owen Lake
First Owen Lake show in almost two years coming up this Sunday. Should I keep the new look? Do I need to go "outlaw country" now?? Second photo is 1970s David Allen Coe for reference.

Owen Lake’s doppelgänger, Jeff Snyder, released this funky stuff under his electronic dance music alter ego, Scattershot. Check it out!

Thanks! Yup, he was definitely a big influence.
completely obsessed this week by @Snyderphonics remix of PE's "B Side Wins Again" – and how much the snarly, bendy guitar riff reminds me of Guy Picciotto
Just finished this new pixel art drawing today, of seaweed at low tide in Maine. #pixelart

Can I mute this thread
Replying to @ghostly
related: it always sounds better to export your WAV files with a bit depth that matches the fastest subdivision of the rhythm. Use 16 bit if there are a lot of 16th-notes, 32 bit for 32nd-notes. Only use 24 bit if you go wild with triplets

I have finally remade my website so I am now officially in the modern age! scattershot.org/ I've spent a long time crafting this - now the "works" page is filled with video, audio, and scores, and I've got a page for each instrument I've designed. Check it out!
