In today’s highly polarized world, it's crucial to understand how ordinary experiences are driving right- and left-wing populism. Please join us on 4/13 with Dr. Lorenza Antonucci to discuss her latest book release: Insecurity Politics.

I don’t get why the Matrix Resurrections got so many bad reviews. I can only explain it with the diffused skepticism on the power of love.
And I couldn’t disagree more.
(the thread you didn’t ask for)
This is happening in a couple of weeks - very happy to talk about the stratified experiences of precarity of platform workers at this session for @ASAnews #VirtualASA2025 ⬇️
Register for #VirtualASA2025, featuring the session “Work is Wherever You Are: Platform Work, Remote Work and Employment Policies,” on platform work, social media influencers, employment policy in the U.S. military, & policies related to remote work. bit.ly/VirtualCon25
Our paper on “Gender, Insecurity and Populism in Europe” using Statistical Matching co-authored with @erre_DiStefano and other colleagues at @precede_eu is out in @EuropeAtHarvard’s Open Forum Series:

(the one paper who took 2+ years of our lives 😅)
Meanwhile another article I worked on while at @EuropeAtHarvard has been published for the IJSW on the lived experiences of the welfare state of platform workers in SW, IT and the UK - first output from @GIGWELL_project 🙏🏼

Good news in a thread: I am co-editing with @elenaah3 a special issue in the @BJSociology on “The precarity of work and life: how insecurity equalizes and stratifies people’s experiences”.
The deadline for *full papers* is the 2nd September 2025. Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏼
Also, we have received a very high number of submissions for our mini-conference “MC04: Navigating Insecurities: Precarity, Crisis, and Paths to Solidarity” at @SASE_Meeting. See you in Montreal in July 2025!

Starting to work with @SocialLore has been one of the best parts of my year too! We have lots of plans, including another mini-conference at @SASE_Meeting!
Replying to @SocialLore
One of the best things in the past year has been to work with @elenaah3 on our collective project to put together scholars who do research on precarity/insecurity, first in a mini-conference session for @SASE_Meeting and then in a special issue proposal.
A long thread to update whoever is left on this platform about the work I’ve been doing in the past year. It’s been a very intense year of writing to keep the post-
@HarvardCES
momentum going & no time to "tweet". I am grateful for everyone who has read/engaged with my work🙏
The great news is that our second mini-conference on insecurity for @SASE_Meeting 2025 has just been accepted (MC #4) with an even larger group of co-chairs, including David Joseph-Goteiner, Joachin Prieto & Hequn Wang sase.org/event/2025-montreal…
It's been also amazing to share our forthcoming work with @precede_eu and exchange ideas on work and politics with @PaulusWagner & @BPalier during CES Lyon - I know that an excellent edited collection on this is forthcoming & one that will connect political science & sociology
