At the 3rd IASP Africa Regional Conference, Sarah Kagingo, the Vice Chairperson of the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) Board of Directors, highlighted the importance of this connection in shaping an enabling environment for businesses and supporting Uganda’s economic transformation: “Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) is a membership-based organisation that brings together businesses and business associations from across Uganda. Through this network, we listen to the private sector, understand the challenges businesses face, identify emerging issues, and gather insights from different sectors and parts of the country, and then bring these issues to the attention of Government, engage on policies that affect businesses, and help strengthen the relationship between the public and private sectors." Effective strategy requires more than government plans or private sector ambition. It requires continuous dialogue, shared understanding and collaboration between the two. #IASPAfrica2026 #PrivateSectorDevelopment #PublicPrivatePartnerships #StrategyExcellence #Uganda @NPA_UG @newvisionwire @psfuganda @SoftPowerNews

This is more than deserved! @DoctorGladys has dedicated her life to the often unseen, unheard, grueling, thankless work of caring for our close relatives and conservation. I'm so proud that she gets the recognition she deserves once in a while! This is a big one! Congratulations Gladys!
I am thrilled to share that I have been selected as one of the Top 5 @CNN Heroes of 2026 out of thousands of nominations worldwide. When I became Uganda's first #wildlife veterinarian, I never imagined that caring for mountain gorillas would lead to a movement linking public health, conservation and sustainable livelihoods. Through @CTPHuganda we've seen that when communities thrive, gorillas thrive. Our work with over 10,000 households has helped the Bwindi gorilla population grow by over 50%. This recognition shines a light on Uganda and on the One Health approach for the whole world. The final winner is decided by your vote. I humbly ask for your support: Vote here: edition.cnn.com/world/heroes… Voting is open now until November 29, 2026. 10 votes per day. Together, we can show that the world cares about gorillas and people co-existing. #CNNHeroes2026 #CNN #walkingWithGorillas #OneHealth @LillyAjarova

More than 10,000 people been infected and reported with #Ebola in the #DRC, and, sadly, close to half have died. In some families, more than one life has been lost. The devastation is immense. It remains clear that the government-led and partner supported response must continue to scale up and out across all affected areas as well as those at risk. But there are encouraging signs of progress: -Close to 2700 people have recovered so far and over 1000 are currently receiving clinical care; -Science, collaboration and communities are offering new vaccine and treatment candidates to prevent and treat Ebola caused by the Bundibugyo virus. @WHO is working with partners on several clinical trials currently underway; -Capacity to provide optimised clinical care to Ebola patients by protected health workers has expanded to over 2100 beds across 109 Ebola transit and treatment centres; -Engagement of private health service providers, traditional healers and community leaders into the response is opening up new opportunities to detect patients early; -With the outbreak spreading to hard to reach and conflict affected areas, we are expanding our operations through rapid response teams who can reach communities where they are. These efforts and progress give us more than hope, the outbreak can and will be brought under control and ended. We call for continued global solidarity and support to sustain the response. We will not let up.

The way Ugandan doctors are helping us here, is something you can hardly imagine. They’ve established an Ebola treatment centre in Kasenyi, on the Congolese side of Lake Albert, and many positive cases are being referred there. The work they’re doing is truly appreciated. 🙏🙏🙏
