This has a really annoying consequence of me trying to resolve a conflict (that may not even exist) on my own by over-apologising for irrelevant things or constantly asking if I have done something wrong, which just ends up pushing people away even more.
A lot of people took this as "You can't be mad at me, I'm autistic!" when my point was more that my disapproval/upset is immediately dismissed or invalidated. Conflict resolution does't really happen if I'm the one who's upset, so I feel people largely do not take me seriously.
My entire life I've seen people act on their anger and it's fine for them. But whenever I deviate even slightly from being agreeable, I have been told I am "lashing out". I cannot tell if there is a problem with the way I express it or if I'm being held to a different standard.
