They had been married for more than 20 years.
On December 30th, a woman named Vickie Williams was seen wandering a retirement community.
Security guards saw her.
Cameras caught her multiple times.
One resident was so unnerved by an encounter with her that they hit a panic alarm.
...then she knocked on the Getmans' door.
She asked if she could use their shower and charge her cellphone.
Darryl and Sharon Getman, 83 and 80 years old decided they should show some kidness...
...and they let her in.
Sometime between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., prosecutors say Vickie Williams grabbed a kitchen knife and brutally m*rdered them both.
A forensic pathologist testified they found of MULTIPLE wounds.
Both had defensive wounds, meaning an 83-year-old man and his 80-year-old wife spent their final moments fighting for their lives.
When police found Darryl, a butcher-style knife was still buried in his abdomen.
There were bloody footprints through the house and out into the garage.
Prosecutors say that after k*lling them, she WASHED HER CLOTHES in their laundry room while they
She took their car keys. And at 2 in the morning, a camera photographed the Getmans' green Kia Soul rolling out of that retirement community.
She drove it all the way to Savannah, Georgia.
And when she turned up at a man's apartment in Georgia days later, here is what he testified, under oath, this week:
"She told me she bought a new car."
She LIED about it and he said she was rushing inside "like somebody was after her or something."
She was arrested January 2nd at an Amtrak station in Savannah, still driving the couple's car.
And now, almost four years later, her defense is that she was suffering from 'psychosis" and should be found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Prosecutors say she has an arrest record going back decades of assault and robbery.
Say their names. Darryl Getman. Sharon Getman.

That’s something all gamers, whether they buy physical or digital should be concerned about.
We are witnessing the collapse of gaming as we know it, in favor of a version many of you underestimate the dangers of or acts so defeatist about it.
It shouldn’t matter to you what makes them money or not, or what makes their CEO or shareholders get an extra few millions or not.
Your best interest is what should concern you, because none of these companies cares about you, beyond being just a number.

He asked a teenager to say "excuse me" and the teens parents k*lled him for it.
His name was Bert Atienza. He was 77 years old.
He and his wife Josephine had been married for FORTY-TWO YEARS and on Sunday, June 7th, they went to church.
Then they stopped at the Walmart to do their grocery shopping.
Josephine says a 17-year-old Black female employee came through with a heavy cart and nearly slammed into her.
No "excuse me." No apology. Nothing.
So Bert did what husbands do, he spoke up for his wife.
In his wife's words, he told that girl: "You almost hit my wife with your heavy cart, and you did not even say excuse me or apologize to her."
Josephine says the teenager then THREW A CAN at them as they walked away. It missed.
The elderly couple, not wanting any trouble, just kept shopping.
Minutes later, that girl's PARENTS showed up at the store, found the 77-year-old man and beat him to de*th.
In his wife's words:
"They crowded my husband, one of the adults hit him in the face. He fell down on the floor. I was terrified. I don't know what's going on."
The Medical Examiner's ruling: blunt head trauma.

That is all a platform needs to do. The platform is being accessed in a house where SOMEONE had to buy or rent the location, buy or rent the internet equipment, maintain a subscription for said internet, buy the equipment to access the internet- SET UP THE INTERNET AND EQUIPMENT WHICH MEANS THEY HAVE THE OPTION TO ENGAGE WITH PARENTAL TOOLS IF NEEDED - AND THEN finally, SOMEONE had to make the purchase with information.
Changing anything in this pipeline will literally not matter. If the parent does not care, then it simply does not care. That is the unfortunate truth.

These people are stupid, look how they went after Detroit Become Human of all games. This is who is getting to decide how the internet is shaped for others.
Steam is now rolling out age verification in Australia for R18+ games, and the method Valve chose is already getting a lot of people annoyed.
The system asks users to add a credit card to prove they’re 18 or older and people don’t have a credit card and normally use debit cards instead.
Certain debit cards actually work and others not depending on the bank, which makes the whole system even more confusing.
And there’s another issue, people say they can be blocked from even viewing the store page for games they already own, including games like Cyberpunk 2077.
I understand that Valve need to follow Australia’s new age-verification rules, but making a credit card the main way to prove you’re an adult when for some people their account is over 18 years old feels unnecessary

The official PlayStation post announcing that they were killing physical discs has reached over 185 million views. Almost every YouTube video covering the subject blows up, often reaching at least 200.000–300.000 views. Every post about it even from people like me who don’t have a huge following gains massive traction.
You have to be naive to believe that only a handful of people support this message and movement. It is reaching millions and those people are sharing it and spreading their frustration even further. Claiming that we’re just a small minority is simply fucking stupid. That would be like saying the GTA VI trailer having 200 million views means nothing because only a few people care about it.
Sure, there will always be a few idiots who will buy a PlayStation no matter what. But in the future, they will be the minority.
So don’t let anyone feed you that bullshit. We are watching a company set itself on fire right before our eyes. Keep fighting against these corrupt, greedy bastards who are destroying our hobby more and more every single day.

🚨 SONY CROSSED A LINE.
I’ve criticized Sony over PlayStation, digital ownership, pricing & physical media, but this story is on another level.
A customer in India bought a ₹1.5 lakh (350 US) Sony Bravia with a three-year Sony warranty. About 22 months later, vertical lines started across the display.
He contacted Sony.
According to the documented case, Sony’s tech came to the home, photographed the television, and those pics were sent through WhatsApp to a backend team. Sony eventually classified the problem as “external damage,” denied warranty coverage and quoted the customer ₹29,130 ($2771) for the repair.
The customer asked reasonable question:
SHOW ME THE DAMAGE.
Where is the crack, dent, the impact point? What test determined this was external damage?
He says Sony never produced the evidence he was asking for.
So he documented everything..
And THIS is where it goes from a warranty claim to something we should be paying attention to.
Sony India’s lawyers sent him a legal notice demanding that he remove his videos, posts and website and issue an unconditional apology within seven days. The notice warned that Sony could pursue civil and criminal proceedings, including monetary damages of AT LEAST ₹5 CRORE.

Half a million dollars. +/-
Think about that.
A customer buys your television.
The television fails while covered by your warranty.
Sony denied the warranty.
The customer publicly challenges Sony's explanation and asks them to prove the damage.
Instead of ending this whole mess by putting the technical evidence on the table, lawyers threaten with hundreds of thousands of dollars.
What the hell are we doing here?
And sadly, this story isn't happening in a vacuum.
Sony introduced a customer-harassment policy in Japan that allows it to terminate support and potentially pursue legal action in serious cases involving abusive conduct. Protecting employees from genuine threats and harassment is reasonable. Nobody should have to tolerate threats.
But we have every right to question companies, dispute decisions, demand refunds if appropriate, complain to regulators and publicly criticize a corporation.
The lines CAN'T be allowed to become blurred.
Then look at PlayStation.
Reports show different PSN accounts receiving dramatically different discounts for the SAME games. Sony is experimenting with account-based or dynamic pricing, with factors behind those differences still not completely transparent.
Now put this together.
More control over digital games.
Less physical ownership.
A storefront Sony controls.
Different customers seeing different discounts.
Policies giving Sony dystopian tools for dealing with customer conduct.
And now a documented case where Sony's lawyers threaten a warranty customer with enormous damages after he publicly challenged their decision.
At what point does the customer stop being the CUSTOMER and start becoming someone the corporation believes needs to be managed?
This is why Ethica Gaming talks about consumer ownership and consumer leverage.
This isn't simply “Sony bad.”
This is what happens when a corporation controls the product, the warranty decision, the digital storefront, the pricing, your account and increasingly the rules governing how you interact with them.
Power without competition or consumer leverage should concern EVERY gamer regardless of what plastic box sits underneath your television.

Nexus Mods just took over and everyone is already super concerned.
Nexus mods is known for being highly censorious and politically active on the Left.
They apply double standards that bans conservative mods, but promotes leftist mods.
- They've banned mods that remove body type A and B for Male and Female (until gamers pushed back in droves on Oblivion Remastered).
- They ban mods that are political, but are selective. LGBTQ activism mods are allowed, conservative ones are not.
- They banned the mod that removed pronouns from Starfield.
- They banned a BG3 mod that turned a same sex relationship into a Male/Female romance saying it was anti inclusive.
- They ban mods that remove pride flags and pronouns and same sex relationships, but ALLOW mods that add them. (Spider Man Remastered flag incident)
- They ban any costume they deems "sexy" like numerous Stellar Blade ones. Male ones seem to get a pass.
Just like wikipedia, they will absolutely taint the data and likely allow publishers to opt-out of tracking to prevent "review bombing" etc.
Why? Not just because they are political, but they are ad supported. And where you are ad supported, publisher money talks.
This isn't the group you want in charge of the most important game database for PC gaming.

Sony has now introduced an anti-harassment policy that explicitly threatens consequences against customers they determine have crossed the line including restricting or terminating support and potentially involving lawyers or law enforcement.
This is an indirect threat. Guys, they’re literally threatening us now.
I won’t back down. I’ll keep criticizing them and telling them to go fuck themselves every single fucking day.
Instead of asking why customers are this fucking angry, why trust is collapsing and why people are turning against PlayStation, Sony’s response is to publish a policy telling those customers what could happen if THEY go too far.
