But this has always been a big thing with me. I can sing every polyphia song. I can give you the release order of every song in their catalogue from memory. I can sing any of their songs on the spot. It only takes one listen and it’s only like that with polyphia. So weird
I am so weird about polyphia. I showed my mom the album today. I was giving her the names of all of songs as they came up from memory. I’ve listened to the album twice. I knew all the drops and fun effects and how to sing the riffs. She also really liked the album which is cool
my biggest critique is mostly a personal one: the christian messaging. ultimately my biggest disappointment with the whole project. the usage of choirs and gospel chords and sermons as well as biblical imagery i loved. the message of the album being "jesus saves" not at all.
to me to critique politics and the general climate of the world all whilst still standing behind religion undermines your message. you portray yourself as aware but prove yourself to be delusional. it's a shame really. i don't fw picking and choosing for a societal critique.
when it comes to polyphia's new j-bomb visualizer i am not a fan. i find it to be distasteful and at least for me triggering. i understand this is polyphia we are talking about but their handling of these things in previous videos were far more appropriate. not a fan of that.
i if you don't get it your kids will as is the case with every polyphia release.
(i love all of these for the record)
1. Rennaisance (i know they hate it, but not me. their most mature project imo)
2. BNA
3. NLND
4. RTYWD
5. Inspire
6. Muse
7. TMH
7. Resurrect (<3)
i've finished listening to polyphia's newest album. in my opinion this is the culmination of everything polyphia has ever done. this is the most polyphia sounding album they've ever released. it's the most experimental, groovy, and creative release they have--
because if tim or scott really have nailed that spiro picking like that i need to fucking see it. they keep getting better and better as players. ALSO there were several parts where it felt like the guitars were genuinely singing. not in a steve vai way--in a very polyphia way--
