Happy birthday, Eric Larsen! 🎉 I couldn't be more thrilled to celebrate your big day as we bring leaders together with the hope that you and the next generation will enjoy many more healthy years ahead. Thank you for your partnership as our venture partner at @SignalFire. 🙏 @DarioAmodei at @AnthropicAI shares that AI is poised to rapidly accelerate clinical and scientific progress in the 'compressed 21st century' with the potential to double human lifespan. It's what inspired us to introduce HALE, a new video series and AI Lab for leaders shaping the future of clinical & scientific intelligence. Last year, we hosted a series of workshops with Eric Larsen, Frank Williams, Shane Woods, Ph.D., @dramyabernethy, Tom Peterson, Jeff Butler and SignalFire founders. We're now extending this HALE series and bringing the AI10, Healthcare150, provider, payer, pharma executives to unpack Eric Larsen’s paper, “Healthcare’s Oppenheimer Moment" together. Why HALE? It stands for healthy, and it’s also the World Health Organization’s measure of healthy life expectancy: not how long we live, but how long we live well. That’s the number that ultimately matters. Excited to share that Episode 1 of HALE is live, and we couldn’t have asked for a better first guest: Nate Gross @NG, MD, Head of Health at @OpenAI, co-founder of @doximity & @Rock_Health. In this episode, I dig into these questions with Eric and Nate: ◆ Will AI make US healthcare cheaper? Why early AI deployment has been inflationary, and why Eric sees a “jagged frontier” of deflation starting in 2027? ◆ Who earns “pathway sovereignty” over the patient journey as AI removes friction? And what it means for providers, payers, pharma, the frontier AI labs? ◆ Is AI going to lead to abundance with dignity for all, or extraction for the incumbents? ◆ What ChatGPT’s Epic integration means for clinicians, and for the 300M+ people asking health-related questions? ◆ Why AI is finally making waves despite big tech's failed attempts to penetrate healthcare and life sciences industries? ◆ Nate’s advice for healthcare AI founders drawing from his Doximity & OpenAI experiences Watch Episode 1 and stay tuned for future episodes with @kevinweil, @dpatil, @sacjai, Mike Stuart, @JustinNordenMD, Amir Dan Rubin, @mattlungrenMD, & more at HALE AI Lab link below.

Models are getting smarter and cheaper every month, but bringing a single drug to market still costs ~$2.7B and limited by the number experiments humans can run today. I lost my beloved aunt to cancer, helplessly watched my best friend battle cancer, and too many patients like them are still desperately waiting for treatments. @warpsciences is building the hands, nervous system, and brain of scientific discovery to bring new medicines to patients faster. They emerged from stealth today with $215 million in funding from @lightspeedvp, @SignalFire, @nvidia, @IVP, Mayfield, @Lux_Capital, @MenloVentures, @ScribbleVC, @brian_armstrong (@coinbase CEO), @mikeyk (@AnthropicAI Labs co-lead), @_milankovac_ (former @Tesla Robotics VP), @istoica05 (@databricks co-founder), @fidjissimo (former @OpenAI AGI Deployment CEO), @BrendanFoody (@mercor CEO), @markchen90 (OpenAI Chief Research Officer), @thefriley (OpenAI CFO), @kate_rouch (former OpenAI and Coinbase CMO), @lulumeservey (Rostra CEO), @deepakpathak (@SkildAI CEO), @zoink (@figma CEO), and @lachygroom (@physical_int cofounder and COO). Warp fits the pattern we look for in category-defining AI companies: 1️⃣ A powerhouse founding team uniquely qualified for the mission: @kevinweil (CPO and VP of Science at OpenAI), Solomon Reisberg (Terremoto Biosciences/ 20+ yrs med-chem, 5 drugs to clinic), @dpatil (First U.S. Chief Data Scientist at @WhiteHouse, @DevotedHealth) and @manohar_paluri (@Meta Superintelligence Labs). 2️⃣ A hair-on-fire problem. Speed, cost, and IP security in preclinical chemistry are major pain points for every drug developer. 3️⃣ Going deep, not broad. Warp brings together leading chemists, AI, and robotics in a vertically integrated model. It owns the physical layer that produces the data moat. 4️⃣ A wedge that funds the global scientific mission. The CRO business is a multi-billion-dollar industry expected to reach $126B by 2034. Nearly 74% of biopharma companies contract with overseas CROs, but the BIOSECURE Act signed in 2025 is catalyzing the largest onshoring wave in biopharma history. Warp is ultimately building critical infrastructure and capacity for discovering new medicines faster in America, while making scientific progress a function of compute, not headcount. I truly believe that this team is tackling one of the most significant challenges that our generation faces today scientifically and geopolitically. Thanks to @RebeccaTorrenc5 for sharing Warp's story on @Bloomberg business. 🙏 Check the comments for her article and our blog about why we invested. 🔗👇
💥 Introducing Warp Sciences, a new company applying AI and robotics to help the world develop new medicines faster. We’ve raised a $215M Series A led by @lightspeedvp to bring frontier AI out of the browser and into the lab, and build scientific capacity here in America. I co-founded Warp with my long-time friend @dpatil, FAIR co-founder @manohar_paluri, and drug hunter Sol Reisberg. The early team is full of incredible people like @bkspears9, who helped achieve Q>1 fusion at LLNL.

Congrats to @JustinNordenMD, @ShantanuPhatakwala, Beau Norgeot, @KedarMate, and the entire Qualified Health team on a total of $155M raised for your incredible mission! 🎉 We are excited to partner with @MohamadMakhzou - @NEA, @JaredKesselheim - @transformcptl, @dpatil - GreatPoint Ventures (Fmr Chief Data Scientist of the United States, CTO Devoted Health), Elijah Yi - Cathay Innovation, @MenloVentures x @AnthropicAI's Anthology Fund as @SignalFire doubles down alongside @NavidFarzad - Frist Cressey Ventures, Amir Dan Rubin - Healthier Capital, Meera Mani, MD-PhD - @townhallvntrs, and Ian Chiang - @FlareCapital. When we led Qualified's first round, the bet was simple: healthcare doesn't need more AI point solutions. It needs an enterprise partner that can safely scale fragmented AI experimentation to enable enterprise-wide transformation. Justin had previously built AI safety infrastructure that made self-driving car deployments at scale possible for Waymo. We shared his deep conviction that health systems desperately needed an enterprise-wide platform to develop, deploy, and govern AI across operational and clinical workflows safely. After all, patient lives are at stake. That thesis is playing out with customer deployments going beyond pilots and demonstrating measurable results ($15M+ in 6 months) with strong ROI. University of Rochester Medicine, Emory, Jefferson, and all eight institutions of the University of Texas System are now partnering with Qualified. We’re grateful to be on this journey with many incredible angels & advisors: Frank Williams (Fmr CEO of Evolent health, Advisory Board), Eric Larsen (Fmr Advisory Board, United), Bill Veghte (Fmr SVP Microsoft), Varsha Rao (CEO/founder of Nurx), @ASlavitt (Fmr @CMSGov), Senator @bfrist, Trevor Price (Oxeon), Kevin M. Ban, MD (Fmr CMO of Athena Health/Walgreens), @PatrickConwayMD (CEO OptumRx), Sanjeev Agrawal (Fmr Founder/COO LeanTaaS), @mattlungrenMD (Fmr Chief Scientific Officer Microsoft for Health), Lee Fleisher (Fmr CMS Chief Medical Officer), Martin Doerfler (EVP Truveta and SVP Northwell Health), and more. The U.S. healthcare system doesn’t fail because we lack capital or innovation. It fails because, at the moment patients are most vulnerable, we ask them to navigate a system that even experts struggle to understand. That gap between diagnosis and treatment is where care breaks down. Nearly 40% of patients delay or avoid care entirely due to confusion, friction, or cost. The human and clinical consequences are enormous. That’s why Wayne Hu and our @SignalFire team are proud to back Solace in their $130M Series C, led by IVP, alongside @MenloVentures, @torch Capital, Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, and RiverPark Ventures. Founded after founder & CEO Jeremy Gurewitz experienced these failures firsthand with his mother’s cancer diagnosis, Solace is now growing 10x YoY in a $20B+ market, delivering faster time-to-care and measurably better outcomes. We're proud to partner with Jeremy Gurewitz, Sara Sargent, and the Solace team as they make advocacy a core infrastructure, not a luxury. Huge shoutout to @RebeccaTorrenc5 at @Bloomberg who shares more about Solace's story. Link to our blog on our business-in-a-box thesis and why we invested in comments below. 👇

Before a new therapy reaches patients, it must survive 200,000 pages of regulatory documentation, a process so manual and cumbersome that one-third of FDA submissions have quality issues. Peer AI is building the agentic backbone for drug approvals. Its purpose-built AI agents for life sciences regulatory writing help medical teams draft compliant submissions up to 94% faster, turning multi-week workflows into days, without sacrificing quality or compliance. Given a single-day delay in regulatory submission and approval represents $500,000 in lost sales and an average delay of 435 days across the industry, leading biopharma executives are eager to move at Peer AI’s speed. @SignalFire is proud to have partnered with Peer AI from day zero and to co-lead their latest round alongside Ian Chiang, Uma Veerappan at Flare Capital Partners, Brentt Baltimore at @greycroftvc, Chris Leiter at Atria Ventures, and an exceptional group of #PharmaTech and #AI leaders including Ariel Katz (CEO & co-founder, H1), Brian Longo (former executive, @veevasystems), and @hanlintang (Co-founder, @DbrxMosaicAI; CTO for Neural Networks, @databricks). Led by Anita Modi, Christopher Ceppi and Ravi Ramachandran, the Peer AI team is doing what very few can: blending deep regulatory expertise with an AI-native architecture that keeps human experts firmly in control. Learn more about why we invested and how Peer AI is redefining the infrastructure for AI-driven life sciences innovation below 👇 💡[NEXT UP] “AI in Pharma Innovation: From Molecule to Market” At 9AM PT this morning, join us for a virtual roundtable with below experts: Anita Modi,CEO of Peer AI Matt Wallach, Co-Founder of @veevasystems Faisal Khan, PhD VP, AI & Analytics of @novonordisk Najat Khan, PhD, Chief R&D and Commercial Officer @RecursionPharma Deepak Nair, Director, Health Care & Life Science of @awscloud Michelle Longmire M.D., CEO, Co-Founder, @medableinc We will explore how AI is transforming discovery, clinical trials, regulatory workflows, and commercialization across the biopharma value chain 🎉

Biopharma’s old playbook was built on a $140B outsourced services market, but the entire value chain is evolving with #AI agents. 💊 Half of pharma’s R&D spend flows to CROs and CDMOs, yet the system remains slow, error-prone, and fragile. With a $236B patent cliff approaching and an unprecedented productivity crisis in the industry, that model is no longer sustainable. AI agents are reimagining the value chain and this shift has already begun. The top 20 #pharma companies are piloting agentic AI. For founders, the opportunity is enormous: replace manual outsourced services, tap into existing budgets with AI-native capabilities driving R&D, clinical, manufacturing, pharmacovigilance, and compliance workflows that pharma simply cannot ignore. The next decade’s #PharmaTech unicorns will not just speed up biopharma workflows, they’ll rewire them entirely. 🚀 Check out @SignalFire's PharmaTech thesis below in comments👇
