What if the factory floor can move to the frontlines? The result: faster production, lower costs, and less expensive systems sidelined due to missing parts. Firestorm’s xCell moves industrial-grade manufacturing capabilities forward, giving warfighters the right to repair and iterate critical technologies. Not only can it produce low-cost UAVs in hours, it can print repair parts to legacy systems that would otherwise be inoperable for months.

The periodic table is really a map of repeating chemical behavior. A 3D spiral offers another way to see that pattern. Instead of ending each period in a flat row, the elements continue outward in successive layers, bringing elements with recurring properties into a continuous structure. Mendeleev’s key insight was periodicity: arrange the elements by atomic weight, and their properties begin to repeat. The modern table refined that idea around atomic number. The important part is not the shape of the table. It is the repeating pattern hidden within the elements.

MIT researchers have created tiny batteries that could be used to power ingestible electronic devices. The entire battery is bioresorbable, meaning that it can be fully broken down and absorbed by the body. meche.mit.edu/news-media/bat…

Building a warehouse level and need dozens of stacked assets? The Vertical Stacking tool for UE5 can save you hours. Just assign your bottom, middle, and top meshes, tweak the parameters, and generate randomized stacks in seconds. You can add as many source actors as you want, making it easy to create plenty of variations without building every stack by hand.

Wanna jump in Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour in VR? I tested a new feature in my current test version for my @MetaQuestVR Quest 3 / 3S port - jump straight from the tabletop into the action. No movement or any action implemented yet - but this looks promising 😃 Release of the first version still planned for this weekend!

Researchers at Nvidia have developed SONIC, a foundation model for humanoid robot movement that acts as a universal "motor system" — translating high-level commands from VR teleoperation, video-based motion capture, and vision-language-action models into smooth, coordinated whole-body robot movements, all without retraining between tasks. The controller was trained on more than 100 million frames of human motion data, allowing it to learn broad movement patterns rather than individual skills. In tests, SONIC successfully reproduced both previously learned and unseen movements using a single model, rather than the separate control policies typically required for each task. "Today's systems are trained with separate controllers for different skills, making them difficult to scale," said Yuke Zhu, director and distinguished research scientist at Nvidia. "We wanted to explore whether a single learned controller could serve as a foundation for many forms of whole-body motion." The team also demonstrated remote robot teleoperation and the conversion of written instructions into physical robot actions. Nvidia plans to integrate SONIC with its Isaac GR00T platform, combining high-level AI reasoning with general-purpose whole-body control. Target applications include manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics. The research is published in Science Robotics. 📷 Luo et al., Science Robotics / NVIDIA

My Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour VR / MR mod for Meta Quest 3/3S featuring stereoscopic 3D and a tabletop style is making progress! Today was all about performance. I managed to crack a few tough nuts, and it’s running really well now! More optimizations are on the way. Right now, I’m working on the spatial placement of the table. I think an initial version could be released in the next few days 😊 Sorry about the poor gameplay - it always happens when someone is watching 😅
Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour in stereoscopic 3D for @MetaQuestVR Quest 3 / 3S as a tabletop game – I'm working on it! VR / MR is fun again. Mods are giving VR a new chance! Hope to have a first stable version in a few days!

🇺🇸 Swarm Aero (@SwarmAero) today at Air, Space & Cyber Conference unveiled Gamera, a mass-producible Group 5 swarming strike and sensing aircraft with 9,000 nautical miles designed for highly-efficient cruise and loiter missions. "Gamera is designed around a unique, proprietary design and manufacturing approach that enables significant cost savings. Swarms of these Group 5 UAS will give the U.S. Air Force a cost-effective force structure option for surface strike, sensing, electronic warfare, communications relay, and other missions. Gamera’s global reach of 9,000 nautical miles enables persistent presence to fill the gaps between “pulsing” forces. Gamera’s unique combination of low-cost, large-payload, and long-range does not exist in any other UAS and will transform global power projection operations." According to the firm, Gamera's high payload capacity of over 2,800 lbs across seven available store loactions allows it to carry strike munitions such as LRASM or JASSM-ER and other low-cost cruise and hypersonic missiles. Autonomous excavator building a wall! 🪨 This will blow your mind! 🤯 Researchers from ETH Zürich and Robotic Systems Lab have used an autonomous excavator to build a 65-meter-long, six-meter-high dry-stone wall. The autonomous system, called "Heap," precisely firstly scanned and then placed stones, forming a wall. Through computer-aided design and control, the robot was able to handle and position over 900 individual elements, some weighing over 1000 kilograms. Can we call it the Great Wall of Switzerland?! 🇨🇭 Here's the page of the project that was on from 2016 to 2025: rsl.ethz.ch/robots-media/hea… ~~  ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com
