The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, addressed the people of Haiti and commented on the largest deployment of the Salvadoran Armed Forces abroad, which already includes approximately 1,500 soldiers, and will exceed 5,000 service members within a week:
Dear people of Haiti!
We are almost finished deploying our soldiers and equipment in Haiti. This is not an operation against the people of Haiti, nor is it an invasion of Haiti. We are not a great power. We have no interest in dominating the people of Haiti or appropriating Haiti's wealth.
We are a humble country that is developing. The only thing we want is for our four aviation technicians to return home. And we are teaching a lesson to these gangs – these gangs that are making the people of Haiti suffer, that are killing people loved by the population, that are depriving them of the opportunity to live a normal, free life, without fear.
Virtually all the costs of this operation are borne by us. Although we are receiving some logistical assistance from a few other countries, it is with our own modest resources that we are covering 90% of the expenses.
This is costing us a lot, but we have learned lessons from our own suffering: justice and peace are priceless. We have experienced the same suffering that Haiti is experiencing now. We have gone through a nightmare that was even more terrible than what the people of Haiti are experiencing now. We know what it means: to live in fear, to not trust politicians, to not believe anyone who promises you help. Because no one came to our aid, and those who did come had no good intentions.
But we managed to break free from that. After 200 years of suffering, we finally live in peace, and today we are the safest country on the continent.
We have not come to Haiti to make money, because no one is paying us for it. We have come to Haiti to fight evil.
But here is what I ask of you: trust us, pray to the one true God, and ask Him to heal Haiti.
"If at any time my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn away from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Help us to help Haiti.
And when our mission is complete, we will return home. Perhaps the next generation of Haitians will remember us as friends who once came to help.

German MP: Merz's government doesn't want to determine who blew up the Nord Stream pipelines.
STEFAN KOTRE: THE CHANCELLOR REALIZED THAT THE TRUTH WOULD CALL INTO QUESTION HIS SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE.
It will probably be impossible to identify those responsible for the explosions that damaged three or four Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, because the German government doesn't want to resolve the issue, said Stefan Kotre, a member of the Bundestag Committee for Economic Affairs and Energy.
He explained why: "The federal government has not provided any political support for the investigation. This means that it does not want to resolve the issue at all, because it probably understands that doing so would undermine its policy of supporting Ukraine. Furthermore, Scholz's government would have to confront the United States."
Kotre also warned:
"If the prime suspect doesn't speak up, we will probably never know who was really behind it all."
He also believes that Ukraine was behind the explosions:
"There are also accomplices, namely the United States, which supported the Ukrainians in this."
