The Ninth Circuit just ruled that Oregon could not force foster/adoptive parents to affirm a child’s gender identity—it’s unconstitutional compelled speech and a religious burden.
If the state can’t impose its orthodoxy on *foster* parents, it should follow that it may not rip a child from her biological parents under the same basic viewpoint-discriminatory rationale in CA.
Replying to @AlyashchenkoX
@AlyashchenkoX's 14-year-old daughter was stolen by the State of California because she wouldn't affirm her transgender delusion.
She was fed into foster care by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EA Family Services (trans flag displayed on website).
Who is paying for it? You are.
Based on publicly available financial information, 99.7% of their $41 million annual revenue in 2024 comes from government grants (both state and federal).
Is it any wonder why the California foster system is so keen on stealing children from loving parents who don't "affirm" they delusions?
Of course not. They're financially and ideologically incentivized to steal as many children as possible - the more children in foster care, the more money private nonprofits get in return.
The question is why has the Trump administration not withheld federal tax dollars from this system of legalized kidnapping.
If they can do it with the children's hospitals who mutilate kids, why can they not do it with the foster care companies who steal them?

When this passes it is a testament to
1) the foresight of @Erin4Parents to put ballot measures on that people WANT to vote for
2) Coloradans’ independent mindset and ability to see through millions of dollars of free and unpaid propaganda
And no thanks to national anyone, who with rare exceptions let volunteers do this alone.
Which, looking back, is cool.

How do gender surgeons use proxy diagnosis codes to justify mastectomies? Quite simple.
In Fox Varian’s first preop clinic visit, gender dysphoria is documented in the notes but the principal diagnosis listed is breast hypertrophy (N62).
During her second preop visit, three weeks later, the first sentence of the note says "The patient is approved for gender reassignment surgery.”
This is despite both clinic notes documenting "B- cup size breasts," which definitionally excludes breast hypertrophy as a diagnosis.
Soon after she undergoes surgery to remove her breasts. At no point in any of the clinical records from her trial is a single gender-related diagnosis ever listed.

Incredibly damning testimony from Kristin Knouse in which she is forced confirm that she selectively released and excerpted texts with @DMSabatini to create a false impression about the nature of her relationship with him.
The Whitehead Institute relied on Knouse’s misleading production of texts in its investigation of Sabatini. The investigation and the investigative report were the basis for Sabatini’s dismissal from Whitehead, the elimination of his tenure at @MIT and his loss of funding from HHMI.
I have only one ask of these institutions:
Listen to this testimony and ask yourself why the Whitehead, MIT and HHMI should not be forced to revisit its findings and the resulting actions that resulted.
Institutional character and morality matters. You convicted Sabatini and destroyed him on the basis of false information provided to you.
How can you not revisit the harm that you have caused to David now that the facts are known and been confirmed by a jury of seven women and six men in a three week trial with the benefit of the actual evidence and testimony?
When a man is convicted of a crime that he did not convict based on false testimony, and the courts ultimately reverse the decision based on DNA evidence, he is released from prison and he receives compensation for the damage caused to him by the state.
As far as MIT, Whitehead and HHMI are concerned, David is still in prison. It is time that you release him.

Alaska media is still suppressing this story.
The NBC/CBS affiliate reduced the story to Peltola just LOOKING for a Dan Sullivan.
They never disclose that her campaign FOUND him and got him on the ballot. That's so weird and sleazy of them to not disclose the meat of the NYT story – that the Dem operative found Dan J. Sullivan in Petersburg, that this Sullivan was willing to help Peltola and hated Trump, and they got him to run as a fake Republican.
They just left all that out and are reporting that Peltola merely looked for a Dan Sullivan, the end. They're obviously trying to cover for her by withholding the full story.

Hey @douglassmackey remember this? I wonder if Peltola's campaign staff are up to date on recent 18 USC 241 decisions!
"In Stone, it was sufficient that officials conspired to 'prepare[] and ... print[] and fold[] the official ballots in such form that any voter could easily vote for the Democratic candidate' but so that it would be 'difficult' or 'impossible' for many voters, particularly illiterate Black voters, to vote for the Republican candidate. Stone, 188 F. at 838. ... Thus, a reasonable jury could find that conduct that makes exercising the right to vote more difficult, or in some way prevents voters from exercising their right to vote, could in fact constitute a Section 241 injury to that right."
United States v. Mackey, 652 F. Supp. 3d 309, [pin] (E.D.N.Y. 2023), rev'd on other grounds, 143 F.4th 129 (2d Cir. 2025).
More of this: "It took the Supreme Court to slap down our misadventures in homelessness policymaking. No matter how well intentioned, courts have no business dictating to local gov'ts what policies best address this persistent problem."
Only one of the two parties is intent on keeping in power rogue terrorist anti-American governments with the stated Nazi aim of murdering millions of Jews, and it isn’t the Republicans.
John Oliver: “It does feel that the Republican Party has been getting way too comfortable with some, at best, Nazi-adjacent sh*t.”
“Nazis getting power doesn’t historically bode well for anyone, including, for what it’s worth, Nazis, who didn’t exactly have the best 1945.”

🚨 NEW: For the @WSJ, @Hartz_PhD and I expose the ideological takeover of the American Psychological Association.
The APA is facing the possible loss of its federal accreditation authority following allegations of widespread antisemitism.
But while the APA's antisemitism problem is serious, it's only a symptom of a much deeper ideological rot.
The organization has become so captured by radical left-wing political activism that its commitment to scientific objectivity competence is now in serious doubt.
We examined the program for this year's major APA Division 39 conference, which drew nearly 800 attendees and held 90 panels over four days.
By our count, roughly 70 of the 90 panels were overtly political, and always left-wing. Topics included abolishing the family, queer anarchist psychoanalysis, dismantling gender assessment guidelines, and white supremacy. One session even concluded with a drag show.
There was at least some hope that the threat of losing federal accreditation might prompt some institutional soul-searching. It didn't.
Instead, APA members just elected Candice Hargons as their next president. Her campaign identifies "systemic intersectional oppression" as the profession's "common enemy" and calls for rejecting the traditional scientific notions of objectivity.
Psychologists wield enormous influence over vulnerable patients, and the people seeking treatment deserve the peace of mind knowing that the care they're receiving care is evidence based and not tainted radical politics.
We believe most would agree that federal accreditation should actually mean something. If the APA cannot distinguish its scientific mission from its political activism, the Education Department should reconsider whether it deserves the government's endorsement as an authority over psychological training.

For years, leftists have made false claims that chemically sterilizing and surgically mutilating children was "medically necessary" or "lifesaving" care...
... without disclosing that they were talking about chemically sterilizing and mutilating children. (Covering it up with an Orwellian euphemism like "gender affirming care".)
This has been a broad epistemic, scientific, and ethical collapse. It exposed how vulnerable our civilization is to the left, that horrors beyond our previous imagining can happen overnight when leftists add a new extension to their cult ideology, how easy it is for them to indoctrinate kids from Florida to Alaska, to get legacy media (even Fox News) to enforce the new, unfamiliar ideology, and to cover up that thousands of children have now been sterilized for life.
Every study finding "evidence" that medical transition is beneficial is like 53 people sent a questionnaire two years after transition with a 40 percent loss to follow up rate.
Meanwhile, Finland has rigorously tracked the mental health of every single patient who received gender medicalization over decades in the entire country and found that the rate at which patients required mental health treatment more than doubled after transition.
The study is orders of magnitude larger and more methodologically rigorous than anything ever attempted by those claiming transition is medically necessary and lifesaving. And yet trans activists pretend that the vastly stronger study is weaker than their collection of hundreds of laughably weak, underpowered, and self-evidently tendentious studies. Any multiple of zero is zero.

We call on France to exercise restraint when dispersing the freedom fighters on the streets of Paris. These brave warriors for justice must receive immediate humanitarian aid, and their safety must be guaranteed in accordance with international law. Failure to comply will leave us no choice but to bring a case before the ICJ, in close cooperation with that renowned champion of human rights, Afghanistan.
Counterpoint: the Justices are good at figuring out what they think about a case of this magnitude, and Neal’s four coaches had zero effect on the outcome.
I don’t think I have ever seen a SCOTUS advocate claim so much personal credit for a win before…yeesh.
Five months ago, I argued against the President's $4 trillion tariffs at the Supreme Court.
In 237 years, the Court had never struck down a sitting President's signature initiative. Legal scholars said it was impossible. Some of my own colleagues said it was impossible.
We won. 6-3.
But the real story isn't what happened in that courtroom. It's what happened in the months before. And its the subject of my TED talk, coming out tomorrow.
I had the best legal team in the nation, especially Colleen Roh Sinzdak, the most outstanding legal strategist I know. Huge thanks, too, go to the Liberty Justice Center (and in particular its fearless and hyper-intelligent leader Sara Albrecht), who organized the client small businesses, as well as to the brave small businesses themselves.
I also had four teachers preparing me.
A mindset coach who'd worked with Andre Agassi.
An improv coach who taught me that "Yes, and" works in Supreme Court arguments the same way it works everywhere else.
A meditation coach who taught me stillness.
And Harvey.
Harvey predicted many of the questions the Justices asked — sometimes almost word for word. Brilliant. Tireless. Occasionally insufferable.
Here's the catch: Harvey isn't a person.
Harvey is a bespoke AI I built over the last year with a legal AI company, trained on every question every Justice has asked in oral argument for 25 years, and everything they've ever written.
Tomorrow, TED releases my talk about what really happened — and what I learned standing at that podium.
AI can predict. AI can analyze. What AI cannot do is the one thing that actually won the argument.
Connect. Read the room. Hear not just a Justice's words, but her worry — and answer the worry.
That is the irreducibly human skill.
Find yours. Go deeper. In this age of AI, that's where your edge lives.

One of the best federal judges I ever tried a case in front of was E. Robert Coyle in the Eastern District of California.
Before being appointed he was a business transactions attorney.
Never tried a case in his life.
Great piece by @shipwreckedcrew covering the Ninth Circuit's "wackadoo" practice of turning an administrative stay into stay pending appeal / PI.
The panel said the 9th Cir. practice "flagrantly violates" the core principles governing both administrative stays and full stays pending appeal.
It also violates the standards and timelines under Nken for a substantive stay pending appeal.
The whole point of an administrative stay is that it's a short-term stopgap device to "freeze legal proceedings" till the court can fully consider a stay pending appeal or some other emergency relief.
