Stargate fans: “I’m really excited Martin Gero is back” *Amazon cancels show* #stargate #savestargate Also Amazon:

A sci-fi horror story, hiring someone for an IP who has no idea why it's beloved to begin w/. The OG fans better not be blamed when it fails bc this is all YOU. I'm not going to be bullied into watching something just bc a studio tells me to. It's supposed to be escapism.

I refuse to be bullied any longer as an OG fan of IPs. Variety recently reported u want to WandaVision ⭐️gate. NO!!! Why are u so determined to not have a successful IP? It didn't work out so well for Disney & Paramount w/ Star Wars & Star Trek. "The definition of insanity..."

@AmazonMGMStudio NO!!! Why are you so determined to destroy yet another beloved franchise & lose money? Do u know why Star Trek was so successful in the 80s & 90s? Bc they respected the OGs while bringing in new fans. This will NOT be that. Guaranteed. variety.com/2026/tv/news/wan…

@AmazonMGMStudio I've never watched this but perhaps surveying the audience you're losing to get feedback, actually listening to them, & make adjustments based on that feedback will help get them back.

Consider this you daily dose of...👇

That's where you put the 🌠gate IP after canceling Gero's new series. Any cold reboot will be terminal on arrival without OG fans supporting it. You still have a chance to fix it it, though. Please uncancel Gero's new series.

We're all in Hell...after the cancellation of Mr. Gero's new 💫gate series...which sounded awesome BTW. It would have made both OG fans happy & brought in new ones. This could still happen if you'd just uncancel it. Please do.

MGM asked me to do exactly what you’re describing after I finished Travelers, just before the pandemic. New and legacy characters working together, facing an entirely new enemy, several years after the events of Continuum. (in which I included a hint of the setting) I wrote a pilot I was proud of and MGM seemed excited, but obviously the timing could not have been worse. I can only presume Amazon didn’t like it. I was 100 percent behind Martin and his team, but that was even more heartbreaking because they got so close. In other words, we tried. Martin will go on to make something amazing. I may even have another show in me. But I have moved on.

An open message to @AmazonMGMStudio We want Stargate back. But more importantly, we want you to understand why we want it back. There is a concern among many long-time fans that the value of the Stargate franchise is being viewed primarily as its basic premise and brand recognition, rather than the incredible universe that has already been built. Stargate 1994 movie was just the beginning. A small window. Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe didn't simply tell variations of the same story. Together, they created a vast mythology, established characters, countless worlds, civilisations, technologies, mysteries and decades of history. That history isn't baggage. It's the franchise's greatest asset. We aren't asking you to simply recreate SG-1. We aren't asking for endless nostalgia or a carbon copy of what came before. We want something new. Give us new characters. New teams. New worlds. New threats. New mysteries. But don't throw away the universe that makes those new stories possible. There is no reason why a new series can't be accessible to someone discovering Stargate for the first time while still respecting the people who have been watching, supporting and talking about this franchise for decades. In fact, that would be Stargate's greatest strength. You don't have to choose between new audiences and existing fans. You can bring people into the franchise by giving them a compelling new story — while rewarding longtime viewers who understand the history behind the universe. So please don't look at Stargate and see something that needs to be rebooted simply because it's old. Look at what you've inherited. Look at the enormous universe that is already there. And then ask yourselves: “Where can we take this next?” That's the Stargate we want. Not a replacement. Not an erasure. A continuation. An expansion. A new chapter in a universe we already love. Amazon MGM — please listen to the fans. Don't reboot the universe. Explore it. #SaveStargate

🌟gate fans will never forget. But there is still time to redeem yourselves. Please uncancel Mr. Gero's new series.
