People often inquire about the exact time of the Second Coming.
While we cannot know that (see Matthew 24:36), what if the day of His coming were tomorrow? If you knew that you would meet the Lord tomorrow—through premature death or through His unexpected coming—what would you do today?
As Jesus taught in His prophecy of the Second Coming, blessed is the “faithful and wise servant” who is attending to his duty when the Lord comes (see Matthew 24:45–46).
“Wherefore,” the Savior tells us, “be faithful, praying always, having your lamps trimmed and burning, and oil with you, that you may be ready at the coming of the Bridegroom—For behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, that I come quickly” (Doctrine and Covenants 33:17–18).
Jesus Christ lives. I testify that He shall come, as He has promised.

Joseph Smith: "One of the grand fundamental principles of 'Mormonism' is to receive truth, let it come from whence it may." (History of the Church, 5:499)
"We should gather all the good and true principles in the world and treasure them up, or we shall not come out true 'Mormons'." (History of the Church, 5:517)
Brigham Young: "It is our duty and calling, as ministers of the same salvation and Gospel, to gather every item of truth and reject every error.

Mormon is the compiler of almost the entire Book of Mormon. His editorial voice — phrases like 'thus we see' — shapes how every Nephite record reaches the modern reader.
His sermon on faith, hope, and charity in Moroni 7 is among the highest theological writing in the book.
Across decades of conflict and moral collapse, he worked upon the plates, abridging the large plates of Nephi and adding his own witness.
He grieved deeply over his people's wickedness. He was slain after the final battle at Cumorah.

In these latter days, we affirm that only the prophet may receive revelation through the Holy Ghost for the entire Church. Some forget this, as when Aaron and Miriam tried to convince Moses to agree with them. But the Lord taught them and us.
…Sometimes the adversary tempts us with false ideas that we may confuse with the Holy Ghost. I testify that faithfulness in obeying the commandments and keeping our covenants will protect us from being deceived. Through the Holy Ghost, we will be able to discern those false prophets who teach for doctrine the commandments of men.
