Chiricahua National Monument has officially been redesignated as a national park, becoming America’s 64th national park. Known as the “Wonderland of Rocks,” this spectacular Arizona landscape was shaped by massive volcanic eruptions and years of erosion, creating the towering rock pinnacles that define Chiricahua today.

Maybe you heard the news this week about a new PHX terminal on the horizon. That got us thinking about the last new terminal we built. Peep Terminal 4, which was approved by the Phoenix City Council in 1986, and opened in November 1990 with five concourses and 44 gates.

Extreme heat affects everyone, no matter how experienced you are. When temperatures climb, your body works overtime to cool itself, and dehydration can set in fast. ⛰️⚠️ The Trail Heat Safety Program restricts select trails in Phoenix from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on days when the National Weather Service issues an Extreme Heat Warning. Stay safe. Take a Hike, Do it Right. 🔗: Phoenix.gov/HikingSafety

We’re looking at every opportunity to address Phoenix’s heat, including the pavement we drive on every day. Regular asphalt absorbs heat and makes Phoenix even hotter. That’s why we launched our Cool Pavement Program. An ASU study found that it can lower pavement surface temperatures by up to 12°F at noon.

Every second counts to secure our water future. 💧 The first of three Pure Water Phoenix projects is well underway. And this is what investing in next gen infrastructure looks like. The Cave Creek Road Water Reclamation Plant will be the site of the City's first Advanced Water Purification Facility — capable of producing nearly 7 million gallons of purified drinking water each day — enough water to serve 25,000 households. 🔗 Phoenix.gov/CaveCreek
