'Look deeply into the eyes of a dog and you will see the love and adoration that lies within its soul, the dog should be able to see the same'.
Built in 1227 (800th anniversary next year) St Luke's Church, Duston Village. The grave, to the bottom right corner, depicting a chain and anchor on a granite plinth, belonged to a Mr Butlin, an iron and steel magnate who lived in Duston House.
Known to us kids and locals as the 'Bottom Shop', so named because it was the last shop at the bottom end of Duston Village. The smart young lad in the suit would later run the village Post Office.🥰
St James Square, Northampton, the building behind was a cafe, library, and the Nat West bank for many years also.🥰
Best year I can ever remember for Hummingbird Hawk Moths in the garden, two or three most days in the summer, they loved the Salvia, Hot-Lips.🥰
I knew this gentleman in my teen years, he used to camp outside of our village, he worked on local farms and slept beneath an upturned pram that carried his worldly goods. Of Romany stock, we chatted if I passed his camp (with my lurchers and ferrets) to drop him a rabbit off.
I like finding these old lead toys when metal detecting farmland. No doubt a young child dropped it whilst out in the fields, with the family at harvest time.🥰
Originally The Corn Exchange, Northampton, just off the Market square. It has had a lot of guises, also The Gaumont, then Odeon, cinemas, Bingo hall, and night club in the mix too.
