Dana Andrews and Teresa Wright in “The Best Years of Our Lives” (1946). I cannot recommend this film highly enough.

Carly Simon was only 27 years old at the time, and this is the image of a true musical talent in the 1970s. ❤️
No backup dancers, fancy stage effects, or auto-tune. Just real instruments, a fantastic voice, and a woman who could effortlessly capture the audience's attention.
I love everything about this video. Carly Simon's voice, the lyrics, her performance, the red outfit, her shimmering hair under the lights, the haunting presence of sadness, and even the scene of Art Garfunkel talking to George Harrison backstage. I love it all! ❤

On Tuesday, Landsec shelved its £1.5bn plan for Lewisham Shopping Centre.
Today, Goldsmiths has walked away from its planned Catford campus: 600+ students, a 10-year lease, millions of council investment.
The Green Mayor @LiamShrivastava promised hope. Where is it for Catford?

Yep. It's also pretty hypocritical as they're pushing ahead with zero social homes on their own development in New Cross, and avoided answering a question about it at a recent meeting.

Absolutely maddening. Viability is an acute concern and this posture will now of course result in zero homes for many years to come

*be pushing.
Ironically one nail in the coffin was the Greens not allowing a CPO on the former Citibank tower.
So instead an alternative plan may now go ahead there with zero social homes and a small payment in lieu that'll fund barely any.

Greens opposed low level of social housing but didn't seem to pushing for more funding to increase it.
They're also pushing ahead with project on own land with zero social housing. fromthemurkydepths.co.uk/202…

This is so sad! Lots of excitement about this locally.
If you’re a local cllr and can make positive changes you should do it as quickly as possible. Majorities disappear
Landsec has pulled out of its £1.5bn investment in Lewisham shopping centre, citing Mayor @LiamShrivastava's Green administration's lack of support.
300+ affordable homes, jobs, a park and a music venue: gone.

Reform have gone from 12 points ahead of Labour with YouGov, to 5 points behind.
A 17 point swing.
It’s over for Farage and his band of cranks.
