There's a real shortage of farm & ranch CPAs in rural areas. If your kid is numbers inclined, maybe point them in that direction.

Every accolade listed here is completely earned by Dr. Akridge. One not listed is that he is the absolute best Major Professor this aspiring AgEcon grad student could ever have wished for. A true mentor! Congratulations on your deserved recognition Jay!
When #PurdueAg thinks of leaders who have made a lasting impact on @LifeAtPurdue, @JayAkridge stands tall. Akridge built a distinguished career at Purdue, first as an award-winning @PurdueAgEcon faculty member, then as director of @PurdueAgBiz, interim vice provost of engagement, dean, and provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity. His career reflects his commitment and diverse strengths. But for Akridge, success isn’t measured by personal accomplishments. It comes from working with Purdue’s many supporters and, most of all, fellow Boilermakers. ag.purdue.edu/news/2026/10/i…

Given that NH3 and DEF are both made from natural gas, with DEF being NH3 + extra steps, the easiest button to push for @SecRollins and @POTUS would be to allow people to tune all diesel tractors and semi’s to turn off DPF/DEF systems-as it is simply a programming issue Allowing DEF plants to pump NH3 could increase domestic supply by up to 750kmt per year. Given there’s a crisis level affordability problem, it’s pragmatic Limiting to supply chain and agriculture also minimizes the workload, maximizing the speed and therefore the relief
We figured N.A. NH3 supplies were tight when we first ran this years demand models. The theory was backed with the lack of summer fill by one manufacturer. The fact that Midwest NH3 values are over $200 higher than the summer or 37% higher proves it. It ain't cheap...

With fertilizer costs climbing, soil testing is becoming an increasingly valuable business tool. Knowing what each field needs can help farmers manage fertility investments and make more informed cost-of-production decisions. buff.ly/IdRxjFR

Our farm auction opened today & will close on October 20th. Thanks to @SteffesGroup for this video. youtu.be/LHCKJgDYBv8?is=pHNF… While @GerryHertz & I are ready to retire from farming, this all still feels very strange! Some have said it must be bittersweet; yes, I suppose it is.

A reminder from The Royal Canadian Legion. With the Poppy Campaign and Remembrance Day approaching, you will begin to see a variety of retailers popping up illegally selling products using the Poppy for profit. (flags, hats, shirts, blankets, jewelry etc.) The reason The Royal Canadian Legion holds the trademark on the Poppy is to ensure this sacred symbol of Remembrance is used with respect and to protect it from unauthorized retailers who use the symbol inappropriately. When purchasing your Remembrance items, please ensure they are from an authorized source - such as poppystore.ca, amazon.ca/legion , or your local Legion Branch. When you shop through these channels, you can be confident that proceeds go directly to the Legion, helping us continue our important work with and for Canada’s Veterans.

I’m horribly ashamed of my alma mater! This well financed and co-ordinated intimidation must be dealt with severely!
There’s a tradition at the University of Guelph: every night, students paint the cannon in a different theme. Clubs use it to celebrate who they are and what they stand for. Tonight, students chose this. On the eve of October 7, the cannon has been painted with “years of genocide,” bloody handprints, a dead child, “Free Palestine,” and keffiyehs painted around the wheels. Just like last year. This isn’t activism I’m willing to dismiss as harmless student expression. This is what Jewish students in Canada are being forced to confront again and again. And we keep asking how France got here. This is how. How long until Canada gets there too?

Whoa…💥
BREAKING: @POTUS just signed an Executive Order to immediately cut diesel costs by temporarily allowing highway use of tax-free dyed diesel and deferring the federal diesel tax on that fuel through the end of the year — no interest, no penalties.
