Steven Canals

Today this Queer Afro-Puerto Rican boy from the Bronx, who decided in 1995 at 15yrs old that he wanted to become a filmmaker like his heroes Spike Lee & Steven Spielberg, became an @TelevisionAcad #Emmys nominated Director. I’m crying. 🥲 #PoseFX

Someone please check on Sir Ian McKellen.

There are some people you imagine will live forever because they’re such an indelible part of your life. Sir Patrick Stewart was one of those people for me. My earliest TV viewing memories are filled with his performance as Capt Picard on Star Trek: TNG. And then there was Prof X in X-men. Nuff said. Most actors pray for one iconic character. He gave us two! Thank you, sir, for a lifetime of memories. 🕊️

RIP Dolores Huerta. 🕊️ And thank you for your activism and your voice. SÍ SE PUEDE!

Sadly, there is nothing about this article that is new or surprising. Just talk to Black, Latin and Asian creatives. Better yet - turn on your television and just look at the content being produced. The industry tells on itself daily.

JOYFUL or PAINFUL, you know what I'm troubled by (not that anyone has asked)? The fact that the stories we are seeing produced are dominated by white, cis, men. No shade to the content currently out - many of those shows and films I enjoy. But I want to see my own experience reflected back. I want Black and Latin and Asian queer and trans people centered too!

I agree with Andrew Scott's sentiment... AND all 3 shows/fims referenced center white queers. Can we get some stories greenlit that are about queer and Trans Black, Latin and Asian folks?!?

When are we getting Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaisons in the Criterion Collection?? 🤔

Spent a lot of time thinking about my 9 albums. I took "the sound that made me" to heart. These 9 are albums that fundamentally changed me the first time I heard them - my entire world tilted on its axis, and I knew I would be a different person after listening. And every time I hear them, I'm transported back to a very particular time and place in my life. #my9albums

OMG, my favorite category at the Oscars is getting an entire podcast!!! Check out @OscarRunnerUp!!! It's a great listen. 🙂

Duncan Sheik was so much more than Barely Breathing & Spring Awakening. I loved his pop/rock music. His third album, Phantom Moon, released my sophomore year of college got me through an emotional period. Thank you, sir, for the music and the calm. May you rest peacefully.

Can someone please help me identify who makes this shirt? What store? Where? Google is telling me nothing!

Since 1984, the very first time I saw an animated semi-truck transform and roll out, Optimus Prime has been my favorite character in all of media. And as a little boy growing up in the Bronx, I truly believed he was going to liberate me. Lovingly voiced by Peter Cullen, Optimus wasn’t just my hero—he was a hero to millions around the world. 6 months ago, I attended TFCon and had the incredible privilege of meeting Peter. I got to tell him that his work inspired me. I’m so grateful I got that chance. Rest peacefully, sir. You did good. ’Til all are one. #petercullen #transformers #optimusprime
