Webinar | Community Stewardship and the Role of Local Communities in Conservation
Centering community stewardship represents a fundamental shift from traditional conservation approaches, moving beyond protection to active, responsible management of our natural world. Rather than viewing humans as separate from, or threats to, the natural systems, stewardship recognises our potential as thoughtful participants in ecological processes. This paradigm embraces the reality that most landscapes worldwide are human-influenced, requiring us to develop sophisticated skills in working with natural systems rather than against them.
This webinar will explore how stewardship thinking can transform our approach to combating biodiversity loss, ecosystem degradation, and impact of climate change, while creating thriving communities and resilient landscapes.
