TSMC and Samsung both pitching their latest nodes at ICCAD. Expo feels smaller this year but still lots of foreign companies are exhibiting and presenting.

So for the last six months or so I have received a bag of dirt in the post almost every week. Each time sent from a different address, name, and mobile number. Someone meeting sales KPIs? Any ideas?

Not sure if dystopian or progress but I just went into a completely empty coffee shop in Shanghai. Asked for an Americano and was told I needed to wait an hour because of the backlog of delivery/pickup orders. They wouldn't even make one for me quickly as computer says no.

Having worked with Nowi in China I can say it is good technology but in no way is dual use so this makes sense. Its energy harvesting chip is mainly to help low power devices like remote controls or sensors never need to changebatteries during life time. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

4. It closed its Noreay, South Korea and Japan office last year 5. It reduced head count in the UK and US last year 6. i think it has between 50 and 100 employees in China, too much imo

It feels like its struggling for sales in general while having huge overheads. It has been trying to reduce costs and the China team seems like the latest to go.

Probably the most well attended ICCAD I have ever been to. Huge show this year.

Not a lot of new design companies but now 3541 of them in China. Taiwan has something like 260 for comparison.

Allen Wu looking at moving into the RISC-V space. Either partnering with Tenstorrent?? Excuse me!? Or establishing his own company doing RISC-V IP. mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=MzA…
