in new york, there's these super hot rich kids that make the cool kids from high school look short and broke in comparison. they're the product of generations of hot people fucking their way into money when you first move here, you're intimidated by them. but if you get the chance to get them talking, really get them talking, and are able to listen without being distracted by their hotness and impeccable dress, you realize that they're as insipid as cafeteria mashed potatoes if you've ever been to charleston, you know what i'm talking about. there's all this real money, but no real jobs. you ask a 30 year old w a range rover what he does, and he'll tell you that he trades equities. yeah, so the new york hedge fund set can barely beat the market but this dilettante of finance w a B minus average from the College of Charleston is picking stocks. he'll be okay, though: they don't let him touch the principal he and his wife share a love of boats, booze and benzodiazepines. the anxiety of a life unlived. they're fucking housecats. meanwhile, the slums around the city make it look like they won the civil war all of it makes you look at raising the estate tax and why not? belly aching about taxing double and death? liberal gov policies incentivize ppl to move to the sunbelt or offshore. but the fed estate tax can't incentivize them not to die
