I'm old enough to remember a meme about so-called "Bernie Bros." But Bernie of course endorsed and actively campaigned for Hillary.
What are we calling Haley Stevens and her supporters?
Anyone else's employer just announce a four-figure "working spouse penalty" for their health insurance plan?
No?
Just mine?
Cool.
In over 5 years at my job, I had only ever used email via the Outlook web browser, until this week, when basic functions like search and contacts starting breaking down.
But many app functions are vastly inferior, including print-to-PDF and conversation nesting.
No winning!
Seeing this really highlights how unlucky the Mariners have been recently. Not only to have a better record than the WS champ 5x in the 2000s, but twice while missing the playoffs. Only Cleveland and Toronto have also done that, but both of them have pennants in the last decade.
Okay, I also missed that Boston has done it twice... but they have 4 rings in this span, so gimme a break.
At this point, my primary question for the next Mariners manager would be "how do you feel about players playing through injuries?"
Anything other than "they should never attempt it" doesn't get invited back.
Josh Naylor and Cal Raleigh both underwent successful procedures and are expected to be ready for 2027 Spring Training.

Felt compelled to listen to the Graceland album today for the first time in I don't know how long.
Of course I queued it up in the Side B --> Side A order I always used on my tape in the walkman in the 1990s. Start with You Can Call Me Al and end with Diamonds.
The best.
EVERYONE who loves @MLB!
The fix for the Wild Card schedule problem is not overlapping the games.
It's ensuring that the series is always on a Saturday/Sunday/Monday.
All times on Saturday and Sunday are good.
By Monday, only 1-2 series will be left and they can be at night.
To wade into the NHJ Discourse just a little...
What she did or tried to do is clearly admirable.
AND it is informed by a trap that is almost unavoidable as parents, which is fighting the last (our) war. If she hadn't disliked her experience, she would've made different choices.
Jerry Dipoto is generally a great baseball operator, a spectacular trader, and (outside of bargain-basement aging RHH signings that are transparently silly) a strong evaluator of talent. AND he should never be permitted to speak in public again.
Firing Perry Hill and EY Jr. is W-I-L-D. Doubly so when Pete Woodworth was apparently retained despite the pitching completely collapsing this year. How many fielders and runners credit everything to these two guys? Don't like it one bit.
President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto and General Manager Justin Hollander announced today the following coaching staff changes.

Dan Wilson's press conference is a Rorschach test.
People who hate Dan: angry he wasn't literally publicly flogged or stoned to death.
People who hate Jerry: angry he didn't have to answer questions that day.
People who love Rick: angry it overshadowed his farewell day.
Well, I cried every bit as much as I expected today. Probably more.
Will forever love Rick Rizzs, narrator of decades of fandom.
Will forever love JP, whatever happens (please bring him back!).
Will forever love the Academy of Natural Sciences.
What a tough day.
Can anyone explain why Dan pulled Logan while he was throwing a no-hitter? What an incredible ending to Rick's career that could have been.

41 seasons on the call, a lifetime in our hearts.
Rick Rizzs, you’re a Mariners legend. #FarewellRick
Update: we now live in the PIT OF INFINITE REGRET.
Open letter to the @Mariners:
You have chosen to risk the PIT OF INFINITE REGRET.
You better make the playoffs now or this will be all we remember about the stretch run.
