My favorite part of being a coach is building relationships. You can’t have a successful program or change a players life without a meaningful relationship. As coaches we have the ability to change a kids life just by understanding them and challenging them to be their best self!
3 types of players:
✅ Those that know
✅ Those that don’t know
✅ Those that don’t know they don’t know
Difficult to win with that 3rd group.
Some of the hardest athletes to coach are those who think more highly of their ability than their production shows.
Even harder is coaching an athlete whose parent believes their child is more talented than their production indicates.
Great coaches have the difficult responsibility of helping athletes understand the difference between potential, perception, and production.
Talent may get you noticed.
Work ethic earns trust.
Production speaks for itself.

I know there can sometimes be a stigma when it comes to coaches and the different levels but I’d put Coach Fletcher up against any coach from any level as far as real/practical/usable content on the latest episode of @SlappinGlass. He absolutely hit it out of the park.
