I’d speculate that yesterday’s, (Aug 19), drop in 30 year treasury yields was due to the FOMC minutes, not the Treasury Secretary buyback announcement, borrow short retire long dated bonds. If liquidity is an issue then shouldn’t that lower interest rates?
