A bigger future is even more meaningful when you build it together.
As we wrap up October, we’re celebrating the connections and conversations at our recent Couple’s Connection workshop.
Entrepreneurs devote so much energy to growing their businesses. This two-day experience gave our entrepreneurs and their partners space to focus on the life they’re creating together.
Through thoughtful conversations and shared discoveries, couples explored what matters most to each of them, strengthened their connection, and imagined new possibilities for their future.
That’s an important part of entrepreneurial freedom: having the time, energy, and intention to invest in your most important relationships.
Thank you to every couple who joined us and contributed so openly to the experience.

Joe Polish’s most important comeback had nothing to do with business.
Long before becoming an entrepreneur, author, and the founder of Genius Network, Joe was struggling with childhood trauma, addiction, and intense emotional pain.
Choosing sobriety became the first step in rebuilding his life.
Recovery also gave Joe a new perspective on entrepreneurship. He recognized that almost anything—including work—can become compulsive without the right boundaries.
After joining Strategic Coach in 1997, The Entrepreneurial Time System helped Joe become more intentional about how he managed his time and energy.
But perhaps his greatest lesson was the importance of connection.
Joe transformed the isolation he experienced earlier in life into a commitment to bringing ambitious people together. He built communities where entrepreneurs could connect, contribute, and support one another through both success and struggle.
His story is a reminder that resilience is developed through adversity.
Confidence may feel good, but courage comes first.
When the path becomes difficult, reach out to people who care about you, draw strength from your purpose, and keep moving forward.

Casting not Hiring. It's one of the secrets to running a successful business.
I’ve been a client of Dan Sullivan's for nearly a decade. My companies, Igniting Souls® and Instant IP® @realInstantIP , have benefited greatly from his thinking tools, systems, and processes. But I’ve always been curious about what happens behind the scenes at Strategic Coach @StrategicCoach
How have they built and run a successful company for more than three decades? How do they choose the people who deliver the client experience and the people who make it all possible backstage?
Dan and B. Jeffrey Madoff @madoffprod of Madoff Productions explore that approach in their new book, Casting Not Hiring, published by Hay House, Inc. @hayhouse
Think of your business as a theater. Your customers experience what happens front stage. Behind the scenes, people and processes prepare for that experience. Every role matters, including the ones your customers never see.
It’s a practical way to think about building a team that works together to wow your customers and clients. And I get to help take you behind the book.
I’ll be facilitating an exclusive live conversation with Dan and Jeffrey on November 11th, where they’ll share the stories behind the stories BEFORE the official book release on November 17th.
(You'll be the first on the planet to get this exclusive content, BEFORE the book hits shelves.)
Preorder even ONE copy TODAY, and you’ll receive both of these Opening Night bonuses:
(1) The Director’s Cut with Dan and Jeffrey: An invitation to our exclusive, live, 60-minute conversation with the authors.
(2) Dan’s 4 x 4 Casting Tool + Coaching Walkthrough: Instant access to the tool at the heart of the book, plus a coaching video with Dan.
These bonuses are included with a preorder of 1–24 copies. One copy gets you in.
Preorder and claim your bonuses here: castingnothiring.com/
I look forward to taking you backstage.
(There are some other amazing bonuses on that page too, including a trip to New York with a real behind-the-scenes look at Jeff's newest production: personalitythemusical.net)
Game-changing entrepreneurs don’t simply adapt to the marketplace—they help shape what comes next.
They create enough freedom from day-to-day pressures to think beyond immediate demands.
They approach entrepreneurship with curiosity, continually looking for new ways to create value, solve meaningful problems, and improve how things are done.
Most importantly, they give themselves permission to pursue ideas that are new, better, and different—even before the full path is clear.
Changing the game begins with three questions:
What do you want to make possible?
Who will benefit from it?
What’s the next step you can take?

Entrepreneurial journeys often begin long before someone starts a business.
For Randi Brill, that journey started at just three years old—helping write up orders, prepare envelopes, and mail them. It was an early glimpse of the creativity, initiative, and curiosity that would continue shaping her future.
Those first experiences matter.
A childhood lemonade stand, a first sale, or the first time someone takes ownership of a result can reveal an entrepreneurial mindset already taking shape.
By capturing these stories, entrepreneurs can recognize the patterns that have guided them throughout their lives—and better understand what continues to inspire their next chapter.
Every entrepreneur has an origin story worth remembering.
What’s yours?

Not every prospect is an ideal client.
Trying to appeal to everyone often forces entrepreneurs to compromise their strengths, adjust their standards, and create services they don’t enjoy delivering.
Even when it produces revenue, the wrong fit creates complexity.
It drains the entrepreneur.
It frustrates the team.
And it moves the business further away from the future it was meant to create.
The strongest businesses are built around clear values, distinctive strengths, and the people who appreciate both.
Marketing isn’t about convincing everyone to choose you.
It’s about making it easier for the right people to recognize why you’re the right fit—and giving the wrong people the clarity to look elsewhere.
Who does your business do its best work for?

In 2010, Steve Gordon lost his business and went through a divorce within the same year.
It was one of the lowest and most challenging periods of his life.
But Steve wasn’t facing it alone.
He had a community of entrepreneurs around him who understood the risks, pressures, and setbacks that come with building a business. Their support helped him regain his confidence and begin moving forward.
Sixteen years later, Steve has built Million Dollar Author, developed a strong team, and served nearly 400 clients by helping entrepreneurs turn their ideas into bestselling books.
Looking back, Steve sees that difficult period differently.
Surviving it gave him the confidence to know that he could handle whatever came next.
His journey is a powerful reminder that resilience isn’t about avoiding setbacks. It’s about continuing to move forward despite them.
Your current circumstances don’t define your future.
There’s always a way forward.

Are you leading your business—or controlling every detail?
Being in charge means setting a clear direction, defining the results that matter, and giving your team the confidence and ownership to achieve them.
Being in control means staying involved in every decision, process, and day-to-day task. It may feel responsible, but it can limit your team’s growth and keep you from focusing on the future.
The strongest entrepreneurial leaders create clarity, delegate responsibility, and trust capable people to deliver results. This frees everyone to contribute at their highest level—including the entrepreneur.
Let go of the need to control everything. Stay in charge of the vision.

For more than 30 years, Dave Sanderson built a successful career as a sales executive for major technology companies.
Then he survived the Miracle on the Hudson—and was the last passenger off the plane.
The experience changed his life, but the full transformation became clear when he returned to work. Being asked to step back into his old routine made him realize that the path he had been following was no longer the one he was meant to pursue.
Surviving the flight gave Dave a different focus. It challenged him to take greater ownership of his future and choose a direction connected to a deeper sense of purpose.
Sometimes a life-changing moment doesn’t immediately reveal what comes next.
It simply makes it impossible to keep living the same way.

I’ll never forget when Shannon Waller called my out while Steven Neuner and Ryan Cassin were writing their SUPERPOWERED book. @StrategicCoach @ShanWaller
Entrepreneurs have no shortage of opportunities competing for their attention.
Without intention, it’s easy to fill the calendar with activity that creates very little progress.
Before committing to a project, meeting, or opportunity, clarify three things:
What is the purpose?
Why is it important?
What does the ideal outcome look like?
These questions create a clear standard for deciding what deserves time, energy, and resources.
They also make it easier to communicate expectations, involve the right people, and recognize when the result has been achieved.
Intentionality isn’t about doing more.
It’s about making sure what gets done moves the future forward.
Where could greater clarity improve your results today?

Ted Kerr’s boldest entrepreneurial decision came when the future looked least certain.
His wealth management business had endured the collapse of the tech bubble and the global financial crisis. By 2009, Ted was questioning whether he had chosen the wrong business entirely.
Then he made a decision.
Instead of retreating, Ted secured an excellent office in an excellent location—with the potential for a 10-year commitment.
He didn’t know exactly where the money or clients would come from. But he believed in himself, his business, and his future as an entrepreneur.
That commitment helped give the business something every entrepreneur needs during uncertain times:
Staying power.
Ted’s story is a reminder that long-term thinking isn’t simply hoping conditions will improve.
It’s making decisions today that reflect the future you’re committed to creating.

What becomes possible when you give your biggest goals more time?
Short timelines can pressure entrepreneurs to shrink their vision or force progress before the path is clear. The 25-Year Framework creates the space to imagine a much bigger future—without needing to have every answer today.
A longer time horizon doesn’t delay action. It provides greater clarity, reduces pressure, and helps you identify the most meaningful step you can take right now.
When your future is big enough, today’s decisions become easier.
What would you pursue if time were no longer limiting your imagination?
