A very young Brian May with his beloved mother, Ruth May.
Brian’s mother attended Queen’s performance at the Hammersmith on December 14, 1973, and recalled:
“It was all so exciting. The venue was so big, and we had only ever seen Brian play in small halls before. We were probably the oldest people there, and as we were taking our seats, a young fan came over and asked us who’s mum and dad we were. When we told him, he asked us for our autographs. It was a wonderful show.”
