Woody as assistant manager? @AndySeni
We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Calum McIntyre as our new manager. Calum is no stranger to Haig Avenue having been in the Chester dugout on a few occasions in the past. He was appointed Chester Manager in May 2022, and he lead them to two National League North play offs also  recording the club’s highest points totals in over a decade. They reached the 2024/25 Play-Off Final. He also guided the club to the FA Cup First Round Proper twice and set a club record of 23 away league games unbeaten. He was named National League North Manager of the Year in 2023 and received three Manager of the Month awards in his spell at Chester. Calum left Chester in February 2026 with his contract due to end at the end of the 2025/26 season having spent 14 years at the club starting out as a junior coach back in 2011. He started out in management at Runcorn Linnets at the age of just 26 enjoying a successful time at the club in a two year spell. At just 33 years old Calum will be one of the youngest managers to have stepped into the Haig Avenue hot seat. We all wish him every success in the role as he looks to guide the club up the table. Welcome to Southport Calum.

Is Moyes guesting as the club social media admin today? Championship player of the season to bench warmer, he’s made a positive impact every time he’s played but the manager knows best apparently

David Moyes tenure at #Everton feels akin to a passionless, long-term marriage: unfulfilling yet secure, maintained only because both sides accept that, under current circumstances, it is the absolute ceiling of what they can achieve.

Shame the bod operating the big screens at the match didn’t put up the @SFoodbanks images when Chelsea fans started their poverty chants.

The right buyer? Do me a favour, we’ve heard all this before. Thankful that they’ve stabilised the club financially but they pulled the rug from underneath the transfer committee & won’t be spending any more. Nelson Dock ❌ Redevelopment of Finch Farm ❌ Youth player fund ❌

In Scary Movie 3 (2003), the sheriff’s hat gets bigger with every cut. It’s one of the dumbest visual gags ever put on screen, which is exactly why it never stops being funny.

The return of the Union Learning Fund is huge, previously for every £1 spent it gave a return of £11, absolute madness from the Tory’s to cut it. Giving workers access to training benefits everyone, for me there are no downsides

This is low, even by the standards of the UK Football policing unit, casually linking the Taylor report post Hillsborough and football tragedies to changes in the law on drinking at matches Drinking in view of the pitch didn’t cause deaths or injuries - policing failures did

💙 @Everton could you help Rupert this Saturday? I’m walking 38 miles/16hrs from North Wales to @AlderHey for him. He has ultra-rare, life-threatening AHC. Could fans at the ground be given a way to donate just £1 on the day? Thousands of Blues could make a huge difference. 🌈 crowdfunder.co.uk/p/qr/dyj6p… #Everton @reid6peter @TonyBellew @st1llryan @EvertonStadium @MeatballMolly @MarkJCarney @andyburnham @CBeesleyEcho @NevilleSouthall @speedomick @ALANMYERSMEDIA @GiuliaBould
