I am not a fan of the new Ofsted framework.
We should definitely not pause Ofsted inspections, mainly because they are some (typically poor) kids’ only defence against extremely low standards.
Both of these things can be true at the same time.
I know this is unhelpful, but I can't help it:
I said that we should be careful what we wish for with the abandoning of overall Ofsted grades.
I would have them back.

To clear up the school funding argument (thread).
There is no more money and nothing has changed. *However*, up to now govt statements on affordability have been based on the Schools Costs Technical Note, published in March. 1/6
IMO people should not expect replies to emails immediately so autoreplies are unnecessary if you are out of the office for <24 hours.
Glad that the TES and now many others are pointing out that the “new money” for pay is not in fact new money and all that has happened is @LucyMPowell has confirmed the status quo.

Genuinely in puzzlement that everyone has climbed down from (what I think were) overheated positions because the government has said they won't take away money that no-one thought they were taking away (and everyone had already included in budgets).

Wardrobe malfunction this morning and none of my kids told me about it. This is my suit jacket and trousers.

Just going on headlines this morning, of course I’m in favour of no deep fat fried food in schools.
I also haven’t come across a school deep fat frying anything since about 2014.
