Leadership.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney delivers a blunt message to Russia: “You cannot bomb Ukrainian cities and then send your junior players to Alberta to play hockey as if you were civilised people. No Russian or Belarusian teams at the World Junior Championship. Not under your flags. Not under any other flags. Period.”

The MS Secretary of State used expired Experian data to "clean up" the voter rolls, inactivating many eligible Mississippi voters who then voted by affidavit ballot. Just anecdotally, I heard stories about it being a mess, especially in DeSoto County mississippitoday.org/2026/11…

I’ve helped elect Republican governors and senators from my home state of Mississippi. The last time Mississippi had a very close race was the 2014 R primary between Thad Cochran and Chris McDaniel. I worked for Cochran. On Election Day, Cochran trailed by 1,418 votes but kept McDaniel under 50%, forcing a runoff. In the runoff three weeks later, Cochran won by 7,767 votes. Votes were certified through this same county by county tabulations with absentee and provisional ballots. Looking at these numbers, @scott_colom will win by around 5,000 votes. Is that close? Yes but think of a line with 5,000 people in it. That’s a long line. Bush had 537 vote lead in 2000 Florida. I’d call this a landslide.
Replying to @Taniel
Our county-by-county look, with charts: where Mississippi's last votes are, why AP's '90%' counties mostly reflect absentee estimates, and why it leans Colom (DDHQ has him +1,864; AP's +65 lags in Clay, Lauderdale and Warren). nitter.cf/bert_on_spec/status/21…

Bad policy, bad character make bad politics: erratic tariffs, impulsive Iran war, blanket pardons, apparent corruption, weaponized justice, ICE brutality, mountainous deficits, hiding Epstein, abandoning allies and coddling enemies. Hoping for a course correction, for the country and for my party.

I just gave some money to Scott Colom's recount fund, it takes money to fight this legal recount battle, if you can go on act blue and give Scott a little money to help him get this over the line.

Happy to know that loser MAGA moms like @katiemiller can’t be bothered with voting. When I had 3 kids under 30 and went to law school at night, worked and had a fraction of her resources - I managed to vote and volunteer for my congressman.
.@SarahAMatthews1 reacts to Katie Miller suggesting moms were too busy to vote while admitting that she herself didn’t vote.

I'm confused, outraged, and upset by the lack of the world's reaction to the criminal Russian double-tap in Komyshuvakha. Search and rescue operations have been underway for 3 days now following a Russian strike on a school. Russians launched 9 guided aerial bombs, initially targeting residents gathered to receive humanitarian aid, and then striking the first responders and police officers who arrived at the scene. People were there to receive bread! The death toll is currently at 40 people, with over 30 still missing, and after three days, considering the explosions were so strong that recovered bodies are actually "fragments," that means that they are likely gone too. I can't understand why this is not news, why the f*** is this normalized???

There is one group of Americans who have every right to have lost faith in the American Experiment and the possibility of change through democracy. African Americans have been murdered, tortured, denied equal rights and protection simply for being Americans who wanted to be treated equally and vote. When they lost elections, they didn't storm the Capitol in a violent attempt to throw out results. They organized, registered more voters and kept faith with the promise of America. Yesterday, that faith once again made history.

Look for @scott_colom to increase his lead. There are still several precincts left out of the total for Clay County where only 78% of the vote has been counted. I represented Clay County for 16 years, you can bet the Colom numbers there will grow his raw vote totals. Every other county is at 95%+ in according to @nytimes #MississippiMatters #MSSenate

What @scott_colom has done is extraordinary.
MISSISSIPPI! Our race is too close to call. We are going to make sure every single vote has been counted, and I am confident we will ultimately flip this seat. Voters know what’s at stake and we saw historic voter turnout in this election across Mississippi, including thousands voting for the first time. There is a lot of work to be done and we are going to make sure every voice is heard.

Most people only lose one Senate race a year. Have to hand it to Haley Stevens, she managed to lose two in one year.

Hello @StephenM. How’s the paper shredding going? Just to be helpful, here’s a list of some swell countries with no extradition treaty with US: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan Asia China, North Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Nepal Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, Senegal, Cameroon, Angola, Madagascar Samoa Unfortunately for you, most are not run by white people. Russia is probably your best bet.

Crime without accountability is practice. Justice is not vengeance. When the Soviet Union collapsed, we let euphoria blind us to the need for the hard work of investigation and responsibility. Do not forgive, do not forget, and clean house.
Hearings, subpoenas for Musk, Witkoff, Kushner, Don Jr., Eric, Beach. It should be a C-Span limited series.

M. Gessen for NYT: Trump has now made it “perfectly clear” that the US is siding with Russia. If Vladimir Putin’s plan is to starve Ukraine into submission this winter, then Donald Trump is going to help Putin do that. 1/

Long time Exec Director of Mi Republican Party when it was the gold standard of state parties.
Tonight is likely to be a rejection of @MikeRogersForMI. All my tweeting aside, I’ve known Mike & Kristi for 30+ years, I know how much it will hurt to lose. If that happens, I hope they accept this in the spirit in which this is offered: You deserve to be miserable after the appalling bigotry you’ve spread like napalm. Go away.

Russia killed 1.5-year-old Kyrylo Maksiuta together with his mom and dad in Pryluky. 🚩22 people died that day. Kyrylo Maksiuta. 1 year and 5 months old. On October 7, 2026, a Russian Kh-101 missile hit a residential building in Pryluky. Kyrylo died together with his mom Daria (23) and dad Oleksandr (32). A young family. Fourth floor. An ordinary morning. All three — under the rubble. 22 people were killed in total that day, including 5 children. 🚩Three of them were one-year-olds. This is not “collateral damage.” This is a strike on the apartment where a one-and-a-half-year-old boy was sleeping. His photo exists. His face exists. Do not forget the names. #Pryluky #ChildrenOfWar

If you're voting today in America it's worth remembering that Trump sided with the people who did this.
To understand Russian culture, understand that Russians just dropped nine multi-ton guided bombs on 60 people that had come to a local school to line up for weekly humanitarian aid distribution.
