The Nasdaq just had its worst day since April 2025.
Over twelve months, the AI trade has absorbed six separate hits. Each one was harder to fix than the last, and each Nasdaq sell-off was bigger than the one before: –2.0%, –2.6%, –2.9%, –5.5%.
So is the AI bubble bursting? Or is something else going on?
I broke down all six triggers in a free article on BlackStyx News.

The ultimate political irony:
Democrats spent years claiming the opposition would wreck the economy—then took both chambers and immediately triggered a $3.2T market hemorrhage over fears of halting the AI buildout.
Regulatory roadmaps are about to crash headfirst into America's tech future.
We aren't heading toward Orwell’s 1984. We’re sleepwalking into Huxley’s Brave New World.
Digital "soma," CBDCs, universal dependence, and total state planning—people own nothing, surrender their sovereignty, and are conditioned to love their own servitude.
Without a revival of cultural immunity and a defense of the middle class, the West locks permanently into soft totalitarianism.

Most coverage of Poland’s tribunal standoff stops at the rule-of-law debate.
The more interesting questions are monetary: the zloty’s constitutional status, the NBP’s gold reserves, and the timing of Lagarde’s exit.

Same stocks, same fear as last November: Back then the Fed was cutting rates, now a December hike is mostly priced in and the 10-year Treasury yield sits about 80bp higher.
Last year the debate was about valuations. This year it's about cash burn: Alphabet at –$9.1B free cash flow last quarter, Amazon at –$42.4B over twelve months.
The setup reminds me of 2000, when Cisco kept growing and the stock still fell. Today's market leaders are far more profitable, so I don't see a bust. But with spending ahead of cash flow and no Fed support, beating estimates isn't enough anymore.
Quo vadis after today's midterms? History says stocks usually rally once the vote is out of the way. This time the Fed and cash flow may matter more than who wins.

Bleecker Street Research says it bought 100 age-verified Roblox child accounts for under US$200 and logged in from five countries within two hours, with no re-check. The short is up 20.9% in four days.

ECB verdict: Inflation says hike. The bond market says wait.
The ECB will hold today. What matters is what Lagarde says after 14:45 CET/ 9:45 ET. Listen for “tools”, in whatever words she uses. That is if her words matter at all anymore today, given she's just resigned effective Feb 7th.
We break down the 3 things that will actually move markets on Black Styx News.
As expected, the Fed was a non-event: the S&P closed +0.28%. The earnings after the bell stirred the AI risk back up, with $GOOGL down about 10% after hours on a miss and −$9.1B free cash flow.
3 new shorts yesterday, one working: $CBRS −5.7% (lockup), $IRM flat, $SHLS +7.1% against the short even as solar peer Enphase fell 16%.
3 campaigns closed out on the Black Styx platform, and one went against us. Our live-tracked $ELDN investment: closed at −11.3% after five days. The automated campaign tracker exited later the same day at −21.1%. Shortfinder's 60–90 day window for a dilutive raise is still open, but risk management comes before the thesis: few can sit through a −20% move on a short and still meet margin.
What to expect tonight: FED + Big Tech earnings
The S&P 500 is up ~2.3% since the September hike, with the VIX calm at ~17.5. Single-stock options tell a different story with i.e. Alphabet's implied volatility near 39.
Underneath, the sector rotation is violent: The S&P ex-AI index rose ~6.6% in October while the full index slipped, and chips fell into a bear market before bouncing this week. Watch out for tonight’s earnings.
Oil (~$115 on Iran risk) is pushing up inflation (CPI 3.7%) and yields (10-year above 5%). A hold is expected tonight, but Polymarket puts a December hike at ~79%, so Warsh's tone matters.
Anthropic's IPO filing revived the AI trade and stopped the sell-off. But Meta's negative free cash flow last week helped drive a 6.7% one-day chip drop, so Microsoft’s and Alphabet’s earnings tonight could bring back more tech volatility this week.
Black Styx Weekly News for CW43 is out now - and still a free read.
This week's news covers 21 activist campaigns including The Bear Cave's Dream Finders Homes: a short report that landed after the stock had already halved since July. The stock rose 11.6% into publication and kept rising, so our risk system closed the short at -21.7% in under six days. By Friday night, $DFH was 38.7% above the assumed entry.
Also in the spotlight in the newsletter and in our News: Eledon ($ELDN), a new short report by Shortfinder.
BlackStyx stress-tested two energy producers at lower oil prices, looking for one thing: a business that keeps generating cash when the cycle turns.
One cleared the bar. It covers its base dividend at $40–45 oil, runs on little debt, and keeps buying back its own stock.
It's a defensive pick, and that's the point.
Which one made the cut? It's our newest Investment Idea on Black Styx.

The web is awash with investment ideas. Hundreds of analysts, publishers and authors. From niche websites to Seeking Alpha, Investing.com and research aggregators like AlphaSense or (new) Bullpen.
Paid or free, they flood you with research, recommendations and forecasts. Fundamental analysis, technical analysis, esoteric theories — sometimes hardly any analysis at all. But who is behind these ideas? What are their real interests and entanglements? And where are measurable results?
We take a different approach:
→ Selective ideas, few, but often unconventional
→ Independent research
→ Quality over quantity
→ Transparent, measurable performance
Four investment ideas this month. All in the green.
