A clean scan feels like good news. And it is. But it's not a guarantee. A scan can only report what it was designed and configured to find, within the scope it was given. Missed assets, overlooked attack paths and weaknesses outside that scope can still leave room for an attacker. Security isn't about getting a clean report. It's about understanding what you've tested, what you haven't, and what could still go wrong. The real question isn't just what did we find? It's what might we have missed?

Episode 1 tested our trust. Episode 2 is testing our friendship. Ulrich, headphones on. Jason, mouthing words. Two out of three was a strong result. We don’t talk about the third. #CyberSecurity #InfoSec #OfficeHumor #TeamCulture #Subverted

Tool obsession is one of the biggest mistakes we see in cybersecurity learning. Buying access to a platform doesn’t build skills. Teams need to understand the attacks, read the findings and prioritise what matters before the tools add value. Start with the fundamentals. The tools will be far more useful for it. #CyberSecurity #SecurityTraining #InfoSec #CareerInCyber #SubvertedAcademy

How many tools and workflows do you need to open for security before 9am? Drop the number below 👇 (Ulrich's answer is 1. Just saying.) #Cybersecurity #MondayMorning #Proactive #OffensiveSecurity #SecurityOperations

Not every cyber risk looks dramatic. Some of the most important ones look familiar, harmless, or too small to matter until they do. Old password leaks. Fake login pages. Public clues people share without thinking. Shared accounts. Apps that still have access years later. The scary part is how normal most of it looks. #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #CyberSecurity #OnlineSafety #InfoSec #Subverted

Cyber Awareness Month is a useful reminder, but awareness alone does not reduce risk. Most organisations already know cybersecurity matters. The real question is what happens after that awareness exists. Do teams have a clear view of what is exposed? Are findings connected across the environment? Is testing continuous enough to keep up with how quickly risk changes? This month should do more than remind businesses to care about security. It should challenge them to ask whether their current approach is actually helping them stay ahead of risk. #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #CyberSecurity #ProactiveSecurity #OffensiveSecurity #Subverted

Finding vulnerabilities is the easy part. Most tools stop there and hand you a list. Proactive proves it's real, determines the true exposure and problem, opens the fix and tracks it to remediation and closure, in one place. The full lifecycle, not just the first step. That's the difference between a scanner and a security programme.

It’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month, so we thought we’d approach it from a slightly different angle. If cybersecurity professionals were horror movie characters, these are the ones we’d cast. Which one is on your team?

A pentest is accurate the week it lands, provides major insight and helps strenghten your approaches. But then your environment moves on. New services, new code and new exposure. The gap between tests is where additional risk lives and where attackers get lucky. Proactive closes it: continuous testing, with expert depth available the moment you need it. Raising the bar from just pentest and just exposure scans to a full security programme that never stops.

Nothing builds team trust like forcing someone to lip-read cybersecurity terms. #cybersecurity #infosec #cyberhumour #teamculture #subverted
