I paid into National Insurance all my working life in order to receive a pension which I was told I would receive at the age of 60yrs.
This was changed to 67yrs as we were told they couldn’t afford it any longer.
What really annoys me though is that they have managed to find the money for 100,000s of people to live free in Hotels all expenses paid & others claiming benefits when these people have not paid a penny into this country.
This is what is not right or fair.
Why should we be paying anything when others are getting everything for free
This country is a joke as they should be looking after the people that pay their way & always have.

Maybe today is a right time to reach out to that friend or text that mate who you think might be struggling.

Nice one Steven, you are a kind hearted man too!
Hey lawyers! 🚨👨🏼⚖️👨🏼💼👩🏾💼🧑💼
Kids back to school and so you’re back to work tomorrow. Dreading it? 🤪 or not?
Perhaps over summer you had a bit of hybrid flexibility, if so that’s nice of your firm.
But I’d like to really change your life!
Around 5 years, I made an active and conscious decision to put my family first and that led to me leaving partnership of an award winning legal practice to set up my own legal consultancy.
In doing that I:
- put my kids first; I’m at every school thing nowadays, help them get ready, homework, eat dinner with them and weekends are all about them
- put my wife first; we get to spend time together without kids; and I’m around to help during the week much more
- put my clients first; I don’t have to do management meetings and other non-chargeable stuff now, so I get to focus on Remarkablaw legal service.
- put me first; I have time to exercise, rest, decompress and enjoy life.
- put my finances first; I get to live a ridiculously good life due to the way I’m now remunerated
- put my future first; I can finally invest for my future and plan what retirement might look like (even if I’m only 41!)
(Ok; I know I can’t out them ALL first, but don’t ruin my point making)
Legal consultancy is a really serious alternative for many solicitors. It allows you to practise law how you’d really like to.
Want to bill half a million and work all the hours? Be our guest!
Want to bill £70k and enjoy having ample hours every week free to choose what you’d like to do?
If you’re any good at bringing in a small amount of work, then I reckon you can make consultancy work.
I’m looking for solicitors in the midlands to join my little Nexa hub in particular:
- commercial property
- conveyancing
- family
But anything will do. Even if you’re like me and do businessy/corporate stuff, I’ve work to share and would love someone else on board too!
So… if you’ve had the smallest of thoughts like “how does it work” “is it for me” then let’s have a free no obligation chat about how it will change your life for the better.
Your kids will thank you.

The new Justice Minister needs to look urgently at the delays in the court system. The court staff are under huge pressure, and quotes of 12-14 week backlogs are common place!
It is causing huge problems for clients and legal professionals.

❤️SHE MATTERS: SAMANTHA MURPHY!❤️
For the past few weeks, I’ve been holding my breath. Hopeful Ballarat local Samantha Murphy would be found alive and safe. Sadly and maddeningly, this was not to be.
A man has today been charged with her murder. It’s believed Samantha did not know her alleged killer. Samantha is the 15th Australian woman killed this year.
Samantha – a 51-year-old mum to three children – set out for a run on February 4 from her home in Ballarat East.
She was a seasoned athlete who knew the area well. She never made it home.
For the past month and three days, police have been trying to locate her. Today they arrested and charged a young man over her death. Her body remains missing.
It’s almost always the way when women disappear in Australia that their missing is deliberate. Samantha’s story has been across the media for many weeks – a stark contrast, dare I say, to the Indigenous women who are disappeared but whom we rarely hear a word about. No one begrudges Samantha that spotlight but I hope for the day when other missing and killed women capture our collective attention.
At some point we need to talk about the ongoing epidemic of gendered violence against women.
‘Gendered violence’ is a term which does not sit well for so many people in Australia.
Just look at the comments on my She Matters posts for evidence of this discomfort. But we do need to talk about it.
We do need to talk about the 15 women killed, allegedly by males in the past nine or so week's.
It’s a lot of women’s lives erased in such a short time. How is this not a national conversation?
Like everyone of the 14 women before her, Samantha’s erasure is a national shame and yet so many Australians are incapable of taking part in the conversations, struggles, movements and decisions needed to change the story.
I hope the murder of Samantha is enough to drive the change we need. But I know deep down this will not be so.
RIP SAMANTHA MURPHY! ❤️

I document ALL unlawful deaths of women and children, regardless of perpetrator gender or relationship between the person killed and the accused. This means not every death is due to domestic and family violence. Australians are also killed by strangers, friends, colleagues, neighbours and other people known to them.
