And also, relationships don't need to fit cleanly into romance or friendship for them to be meaningful. As long as no one is hurt or confused on what the relationship dynamic is and all participating parties are comfortable and agree with it, it's perfectly fine.

Why should romantic partners be put above everyone else just because they share a different kind of intimacy with you than compared to friends or family? I don't think we should be placing more value on romance than platonic and familial dynamics. They're just as valuable.
