An interesting article on roof load surveys for solar and relying on software. Days of saying it adds less than 15% are coming to an end and will likely soon require a structural engineer report for most installations. bmgsurveysltd.com/bmg-survey…
Somehow I survived this crash, avoided a deer and hit a tree I did not see, lucky to be alive. I’m now home & on a very long road to recovery. To all those who messaged and offered support to me & my family, Thank you. I will reply to you all in time but taking things day by day.
Had to stop riding the solar coaster. Swerved to avoid a deer and hit a tree! Now have very badly broken leg in several pieces that is immobilised pending surgery to fix. Air ambulance drs and fire brigade looked after me well cutting me free and now in hospital until fixed
Am i correct in thinking cleantech / callidus has gone under? @biz_martini
Anybody got recommendations for mounting kit for pv panels on house walls customer wants to explore options as he has a lovely south facing wall in his garden. obviously not mcs approved.
Question for solar installers. Given temps expected around 38/39c this week in places. When do you say it is too hot and unsafe to be on an exposed roof working?
Just been reading how it is expected BS7671 will need an update to allow plug in solar. So does this mean we will end up with amendment 5 this year or early 27 before we get to 19th edition?
Seeing online Givenergy has appointed administrators? Not sure which part of the company this involves? At its core its a a good product but poor tech support and overly strict warranty processes cost it market share
Viewed some new build houses today and had to restrain myself when sales lady told me they fit between 3-6 pv panels on the roof but no inverter! You have to buy that as an extra!? And also have to pay for an mcs certificate if you want one afterwards too.doesnt seem right to me
Took a pile of old cables in to scrap yard today. Paying £8+ per kg for stripped copper. £2.30 for unstripped cables Explains why cable prices are going up so much in wholesalers
Very impressed by @SigenergyGlobal and how they have handled the recall of 8kw+inverters. Excellent communication. Generous payment to installers. Other brands take note! Look after your installers and they will continue to recommend and install your kit.
Been working with @BathLifeMag on advertising recently and it has been successful. Led to around £60k of work with more installs scheduled for 2026. Finalist in Recent Bath Property Awards and upcoming Bath Life Awards. Bold advert in this months issue and looks fantastic. #bath
First hand experience of Phenolic breakdown today. @kewtechcorp Voltage indicator lit up like an xmas tree! Called DNO who tested and confirmed voltage & the cut out swapped within 2 hours. Told that If the voltage is 6v or higher they generally replace cutout. #safeisolation
Anybody else seen this before? Customer has a Porsche EV and the charging port melted, pins from car came out stuck in the charging lead, Car being repaired under warranty but customer left to buy new lead from Myenergi.
Anybody know if these are officially available in the UK for Sigenergy installs? widely used in Australia and available online but not it seems UK approved?
EAS changes around quals for employed persons starting Oct 26. Does this apply to a labourer who might just help with heavy lifting and grunt work but all the electrical work done by fully qualified persons? Labourer working under supervision and instruction?
At The Ivy in Bath and this creation is dessert. Quite a skill making these so consistent as a very popular option on the menu. Santa is a white chocolate mouse shell filled with ice cream on a mouse
Anybody know if this applies or will apply to the UK? Just Australia for now but given similar kit makes you wonder about the UK inverters?
