Some background on Muffarige below
On today's FedSoc panel, Christopher Mufarrige invents a strawman argument to defend the consumer welfare standard, claiming that those who want stronger antitrust law enforcement want an "equality of outcomes" standard Background on Muffarige prospect.org/power/cfpb-appo… #FedSoc2024

If you’re someone who holds Meta accountable, here is a good discovery document reminding you how they work. Here to discredit Jonathan Haidt as he was holding them accountable for harming the global youth. storage.courtlistener.com/re…

Meta bandying around this inept headline from the NY Post editorial board, claiming that because they lost a single lawsuit in one state, it could "tank the whole US economy" because "the same...model could destroy any business." Cope harder.

Given the federal government’s denial that there is any pattern of immigration agents holding U.S. citizens, ProPublica did its own count. We found that 500+ Americans were detained, including at least 70 children and teens. propublica.org/article/ameri…

This is how the candidates are listed on Alaska's ballots. It's clearly marked, which one is the GOP candidate and which one is just a guy
NEW: DOJ is suing to prevent Alaska from certifying its election results until the state investigates whether the other "Dan Sullivan" on the ballot created "voter confusion" to the detriment of incumbent GOP Sen. Dan Sullivan. w/ @G_Svirnovskiy politico.com/news/2026/10/23…

This is the cheating we have been raising concerns about. A weaponized DOJ to help the GOP win elections. The only thing that will beat them is a massive vote against them.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Trump administration sues to block Alaska Senate race certification if Republican loses, citing candidate name confusion.

Armed and in uniform, federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security have been knocking on doors in several states to ask residents about their immigration status — and to inquire if they have registered to vote or cast votes in past elections, a CBS News Investigation has found. The operation is part of an effort to root out potential noncitizen voters ahead of the midterms. cbsn.ws/4eF7Zyv

BREAKING: Trump has asked the Supreme Court to let him bulldoze over 500 miles of Big Bend National Park. He's doing everything he can to destroy this pristine park, and using the border as the excuse. Hey Trump! Keep your tiny hands off our parks.

This is huge. A just-released SEC filing makes an extraordinary revelation: Mark Zuckerberg is getting ready to pay California’s 5% billionaire wealth tax and has signed an agreement to remain in California for 8 years. We are witnessing a global turning point unfold before our eyes. 🧵

It’s worth noting the Court ordered Meta to pay New Mexico $25B for the claims that were just settled for $460M by 46 other state AGs, buried inside of the $18B child harms settlement. Advantage New Mexico @DCAttorneyGen licks lips. Personal suit v Zuck. techpolicy.press/the-459-mil…

Meta paid $5B to the FTC to settle the Cambridge Analytica case, overpaid to ensure their leadership wasn't held responsible, and another $100M to the SEC. Sure this is a drop in the bucket for Meta but $25B 8ish years later, and maybe the largest fine ever, is not insignificant.

Kudos to New MEXICO for setting a national example of what state-level Big Tech accountability can look like. A counter-example by @NewMexicoDOJ - you can take Meta to court and win.

The sickest passage I've ever read about anyone was this story of how Kaplan sexually harassed his subordinate Sarah Wynn-Williams after she has a troubled pregnancy. It's from her book Careless People on the creeps running Meta.
Sharing some news here on the professional front for me.  After more than 15 years at Meta, I’ve decided the time is right for me to move on from my role as Chief Global Affairs Officer.  It’s been an extraordinary journey and opportunity, and I’m very proud of the team we built and work we did.  I will always be grateful to @finkd and @sherylsandberg for bringing me in all those years ago and supporting me and my work all along the way.  It has been a true privilege to work with Mark – one of the great founders, builders, and strategic CEOs in history – as well as his leadership team, and the incredible Global Affairs team we’ve assembled over the years. I’ll be at the company for a few months to help with the transition, and then look forward to catching my breath, making up for lost time with my beautiful wife, catching all of my daughter’s high school tennis matches, and surprising my son with frequent unannounced visits at college.  Somewhere in there will also find some time to figure out what I want to do next–will let you know when I do! axios.com/2026/10/20/joel-ka…
