Big day today for @CantonNetwork
@The_DTCC announced its tokenization service on Canton network with its own Besu private network.
At @SwapMonster_, we are building the financial market infrastructure for institutions to list their tokenized assets, settle with their existing clients, and distribute them to broader market participants that comply with their own regulations.
If you are tokenizing assets or looking into Canton, reach out.
Huge announcement today for the @CantonNetwork ecosystem.
@The_DTCC's Tokenization Service is live and with it:
▫️ 34 securities available to tokenize at launch
▫️ From select large-cap Russell 1000 stocks, select ETFs, and US Treasuries (specific names not disclosed yet)
▫️ Each token is backed 1:1 by a security held at DTC, with the same legal rights
▫️ Tokens can move 24/7 between DTC-registered wallets
DTC holds about $30 trillion in assets under custody.
Tokenization is getting more adoption, and Canton is the home for it. Stay tuned for more updates. 👀

Most chains copy every transaction to everyone and add privacy afterwards. Canton went the other way, as @YuvalRooz says here.
Each party sees the contracts it is party to. Nobody else sees the terms.
That matters most at settlement. A fund can close a large trade with one counterparty, and the size never becomes public information for anyone to trade against.
Most blockchains were built years ago on a root design that replicates data to everyone, so privacy has to be added on as an afterthought.
Canton was built the other way, privacy as an inherent property of the chain from the start.
@YuvalRooz discusses with @_TalkingTokens.
DTCC's tokenization service is due to launch this month, with Canton one of two networks live on day one.
25 securities to start: Treasuries, ETFs and Russell 1000 names, same CUSIP, moving 24/7 between registered wallets.
Moving the security is step one. Settling it against cash in the same transaction is the step we built Swap Monster around.

What is @SwapMonster_?
A venue for large block trades directly between counterparties on Canton.
You choose who gets your request, compare private, firm quotes and approve the trade in your wallet.
The asset and payment settle together, or neither settles.
🤝 Paid partnership
Your quote isn't the market's business.
Ask only the counterparties you pick. Your assets stay in your wallet until you accept. Then both legs settle in one transaction.
Price at size, without the audience.
Dm for an invitation.
Traditional finance is coming on-chain, and Canton is where it's landing.
Derivnex just closed the first OTC swap on Canton. @DRWTrading and Marex traded a total return swap on a Kaiko-tokenized S&P iBoxx index.
Tokenized repo on Canton now runs at about $9T a month.
Repo is moving on-chain fast. By leveraging Canton, institutions get private quotes from counterparties they choose, with cash and collateral settling together, and a market that is open to them 24/7.
Continuous settlement across jurisdictions is not optional for institutions that trade between time zones.
@ShaulKfir puts the cost plainly: less friction grows the market and saves real money each year.
The friction lives in the gaps: a cutoff in one city, a closed banking day in another. Close those and the savings stop being theoretical.
Onchain finance doesn't have days off.
Reducing friction through continuous settlement across jurisdictions can grow the market and save institutions billions per year.
That shift will drive the next phase of adoption with new businesses built on top of that market.
@ShaulKfir discusses with @LongViewCrypto.

@LloydsBank + @Visa completed a live stablecoin settlement pilot.
Canton generated $48.7M in fees.
Snapshot of September on the network.
We are happy to see DvP becoming a standard for on-chain atomic settlement.
The question is where you will be able to trade privately, without moving the ownership of the underlying asset.
Any guesses who supports this already?
On most public chains, a pending trade is visible to everyone before it settles. Canton works differently. Validators or participants only see the transactions they're party to, and there's no public mempool in between.
That's why we are building on Canton, and why we are doing the flow on-chain. Canton lets transactions be private and visible only to the counterparties participating in the transaction.
A private RFQ only works if competing counterparties never see each other's prices, and on Canton, the ledger underneath supports it.
Putting the cash leg on-chain is what makes tokenized repo real. Dollars move in for settlement, then back to the bank when the trade matures.
On Swap Monster, desks can price and settle the trade on Canton while the underlying securities stay in custody; only the digital twin changes hands.
The settlement is atomic, DvP on-chain and the asset never has to leave the rails institutions already trust.
A tokenized US Treasury can settle onchain while the institution financing it keeps its cash in a bank account.
In @The_DTCC's first production trades using tokenized U.S. securities, HIFI moved the cash leg of two Treasury repo transactions, from bank dollars into USDC and USDCx on @CantonNetwork for settlement, then back to the bank at maturity.

Fireblocks just walked through how @citsecurities ran live DTC tokenization on Canton in July.
Tokenized U.S. Treasuries moved from a Fireblocks wallet to DTC-registered counterparties at BNP Paribas and Société Générale, then posted to CME as collateral.
@The_DTCC's Tokenization Service is expected to open in October for eligible participants.
Collateral that can move that fast still needs a private price discovery step before it settles.
That is the gap Swap Monster fills with sealed RFQ and atomic on-chain DvP.
One of the world's largest market makers took part in DTC's live tokenization initiative on Fireblocks.
Tokenized Treasuries on Canton. Onchain transfer to counterparties. Collateral posted at @citsecurities.
@The_DTCC's service goes live in October.
