Embedded Swift supporting untyped throws might just be what we need to get Swift Bitcoin into something like the ESP-32 (RISC-V) – we actually tried to make all our throws typed but found impedance issue against many core Swift APIs that are not built for this.
Embedded Swift is a subset of Swift built for tiny, constrained hardware, with far smaller binaries while keeping the language you already know. Swift 6.4 brings it closer to full Swift than ever, supporting "any" types, untyped throws, and metatypes. swift.org/blog/embedded-swif…

In the wake of the @COLDCARDwallet scandal we welcome everyone and their LLMs to audit/fix our code… particularly around seed generation on iOS/macOS/Android/Linux/Windows/WASM and Embedded. Thank you!

Linux static binaries require no runtime dependencies and run on all distros. ARM and x86 architectures supported.
Took me a while (I suck at devops) but static Linux binaries for @SwiftBitcoinOrg are now attached to each GH release for download:
bcnode - Bitcoin Node (daemon)
bcutil - Bitcoin Utility (rpc and off-chain)

Your favorite C library, now with Swift superpowers. 🦸
New post: how to transform C APIs into idiomatic Swift, with enums, automatic reference counting, and argument-labeled methods. Best of all: no header changes needed, thanks to API notes! 🥳 swift.org/blog/improving-usa…
Hi Bitcoiners – it’s Fran again.
17 years ago today, Hal Finney posted two words that changed everything: “Running bitcoin.”
Since then, thousands of bitcoiners across 50+ countries have run in his name.
The 5th #RunningBitcoinChallenge starts NOW. ⚡️🏃♂️
Are you in? 👉 runningbitcoin.us
Hal believed code could set humanity free.
He was an avid runner, until progression of his ALS made it impossible.
The 2026 Running Bitcoin Challenge runs for 21 days starting today, the anniversary of his legendary tweet. 🌍
Run or walk 21 km / 13.1 mi– every step contributes to ALS research. 📷runningbitcoin.us
This year’s challenge is backed by giants:
⚡️ @HRF – defending human freedom with Bitcoin
⚡️ @blocks – @jack’s company building on open money for the world
Hal would be grateful and proud of your support. Thank you!
We are also being supported by @strike - thank you!
I’m also proud to highlight HRF’s Finney Freedom Prize, honoring work at the intersection of Bitcoin, freedom, and privacy.
Congratulations to the 3rd halving era’s winner, Andreas M. Antonopoulos - who educated millions on Bitcoin and its potential for humanity.
Hal would be proud of your work. 🏆
I’m Fran Finney (@franfinney), Hal’s wife.
Every January, I watch this community show up – running, walking, donating, sharing.
You keep Hal’s spirit alive. That means everything. 💛
