Every kid deserves the opportunity to play sports. But that doesn't mean every sport is the right fit for every kid.
We don't talk about this enough, especially with parents in the private instruction industry, where more lessons are often the answer.
Sometimes kids need more training. Sometimes they need a different path. That might mean exploring another sport where their natural abilities are better suited. It might mean playing recreationally instead of competitively.
Not every kid is going to become a great baseball or softball player, no matter how much they train. And that's fine.
Our responsibility as coaches isn't to keep selling lessons. It's to help kids discover their strengths, develop their abilities, and find something they genuinely enjoy.

If you're a signed or committed player you have to keep your foot on the gas and you probably need to drive faster.
Your competition is no longer the playeets on the circuit, its those in college that are 2,3,4 years older than you.
You need to be ready to compete with THEM.
1-1 count Contreras challenges a pitch and smoltz is flabbergasted he would even challenge it because they are winning 2-0.
He wins the challenge and the count goes 1-2. Big difference in 2-1 and 1-2. Changes the whole dynamic of the at-bat. But yea, let’s just not challenge bc it’s 2-0. 🤦♂️

CALLING THE COPS ON A 3 YEAR OLD IS CRAZY
Nevada is a 3 year old Soccer phenom who had the police called on him in Winter Park, Florida.
His family was allegedly live streaming a game that he scored 10 goals in against 5 year olds.
Opposing parents complained about Nevada’s playing style, that he was holding possession of the ball too much because the other kids couldn’t get the ball from him.
Nevada was kicked out of the league, his family refunded their money and the police escorted his family off the field with a trespass notice.
Punishing a 3 year old child for being too good at a sport is RIDICULOUS.

Yes you need to be able to pull the ball on a line with good direction. However, if all of your tee work and BP is pull side, out and around, uphill topspin, way out in front, you will be very disappointed come game time.
