🔥TODAY: An explosion inside the Demilitarized Zone separating North and South Korea has injured three S. Korean military officers, per AP.
The blast occurred during an operation near the Military Demarcation Line in the western section of the DMZ.
Two officers were evacuated by helicopter, while the third was transported by road before being airlifted to a military hospital.
The cause remains UNKNOWN, though S. Korean media reports suggest a land mine may have been involved.
In August 2015, land-mine blasts maimed two S. Korean soldiers and sharply escalated tensions.
In June 2024, N. Korean troops crossed the border three times, prompting S. Korea to fire warning shots.
BULLISH: 🇰🇷South Korea exported a record $34.1 BILLION of semiconductors in the first 20 days of September, up 259% YoY.
Total exports reached a record $71.4 billion, with chips accounting for 47.8% of of the country’s total exports:
• To China: $16.6 billion, more than double
• To USA: $14.2 billion, up 118%
