I keep seeing “the Red War lawsuit” brought up since the Unvaulting announcement and it’s been annoying my last few remaining brain cells, so… Bungie couldn’t submit the legacy build of Red War as an exhibit to the Court because Bungie “cannot feasibly provide the Court with the original Destiny 2 game as it existed in 2017”. Mind you, this was at very early stages of the lawsuit (which was obviously a sham to anyone with half a brain. The plaintiff Martineau waited 7 YEARS to file after he knew the campaign was no longer playable??) prior to discovery during a motion to dismiss from Bungie. Unvaulting Red War (what Bungie is doing now) would not have been an acceptable exhibit for the judge as “original work” since it’ll undergo TONS OF CHANGES to make it playable with D2’s updated underlying framework. Also, Project Sunrise “modders” said that players would never be able truly play Red War but instead explore it a little, which also would not have been accepted by a judge in a copyright case at that stage.
They also said there was no way red war campaign can be brought back. That no playable build existed and it's impossible to bring it back over multiple blogs and in the lawsuit. And then we he modders. And now all of a sudden it is and was possible to bring it back chose not to

Hope the upcoming PvE mode can get some interest, but totally understandable. All in all, it's more rooting for each game to succeed rather than rooting for failure out of spite. We (Bungie) need to fix things, for sure. Community side, we hope folks can put down the pitchforks and get along.

#SaveMassEffect - A Message from the founder. First, I want to say thank you. When I started this petition and created #SaveMassEffect, I had no idea how quickly the community would come together. What began as one fan refusing to quietly accept the loss of something that meant so much to so many has grown into a movement supported by tens of thousands of people around the world. And we’re only getting started. Mass Effect has never been just another video game franchise. For many of us, it represents years of unforgettable stories, characters, friendships, and choices. It’s a universe that inspired us, brought us together, and reminded us that even against impossible odds, our actions matter. That’s why this campaign exists. Our goal is simple: Give Mass Effect a future. We’re asking Electronic Arts to seriously consider two paths forward: 1. Commit to continuing Mass Effect’s development, with the resources, talent, and time necessary to deliver the experience this franchise deserves. 2. Explore licensing Mass Effect to a qualified development studio capable of carrying the franchise forward if EA no longer intends to develop it. We’re not demanding rushed development, unrealistic promises, or an immediate announcement of a new game. We’re asking EA to recognize that this franchise still matters and that its community deserves to be heard. I also want to make something very clear: This campaign is not against the developers, artists, writers, or employees of EA and BioWare. These are the people who helped create the universe we love. They deserve our respect and support. Our campaign will remain respectful, organized, and focused on constructive solutions. Where We Go From Here As the founder of #SaveMassEffect, I’m working to turn the incredible support we’ve received into an organized effort. Over the coming days, I’ll be focusing on expanding our outreach, connecting with gaming journalists and community creators, bringing volunteers into the campaign, and establishing a professional line of communication with EA. With N7 Day approaching on November 7, we have an opportunity to show just how much this universe still means to people around the world. Our next milestone is 100,000 signatures. But signatures alone aren’t the ultimate goal. Our goal is meaningful dialogue and a genuine opportunity to secure Mass Effect’s future. How You Can Help - Keep sharing the petition and using #SaveMassEffect. - Encourage fellow fans to participate respectfully. - Share what Mass Effect means to you and why you want to see its story continue. - Help spread the campaign beyond our existing communities. I’m currently organizing this effort independently, and I know I can’t do everything alone. As we grow, I’ll be looking for dedicated community members who want to help build something lasting. Finally, I want everyone supporting this campaign to remember something: We cannot guarantee that EA will change its plans. But we can make sure the community’s voice is impossible to overlook. Every signature represents someone who believes this universe is worth preserving. You have already shown me that I am far from alone in that belief. Thank you for standing with me. Thank you for standing with the developers who gave us this incredible universe. And thank you for refusing to let Mass Effect’s future go unquestioned. Our choices matter. Our voices matter. #SaveMassEffect — Joe Smith, #SaveMassEffect

Soon after a game is cancelled or a studio shuts down, we get a lot of comments and emails from fans saying "You should buy this IP!" Then, as months go by, those comments turn into "Why didn't you buy it? You have the money!" The reality is, in my experience at least, the IP holders often have absolutely no interest in selling and when they do, the asking price is absurd... It's becoming a more common topic these days, because so many games are being cancelled or shut down, so I just wanted to share my personal experience. Plenty of companies do try to buy or at least license game IPs to keep them alive. But...if the IP holder doesn't want to play ball...then there isn't much anyone can really do :/

First trailer for ‘THE EYES OF GHANA’, the first-ever film produced by IShowSpeed. The documentary follows Ghanaian cinematographer Chris Hesse who attempts to rescue more than 1,000 films capturing Africa’s fight for independence in the 1950s & ’60s.

Someone last night asked me if I'd be playing this game. I said no. I just think it's important for Black creators to be mindful of the stereotypes we may be perpetuating by engaging in games that make light of the myth of disproportionate Black on Black violence. It's unlikely most audiences even know the nefarious history of why "hoods" in the US even exist.
It’s actually refreshing to see this. It’s kinda dope to have these moments when we don’t see blind alignment from creator fanbases because it shows that at the very least folks who said something are thinking about the larger picture and not just riding waves.

Rest in peace, Freddie Jackson… The New York singer behind some of the biggest quiet-storm records of the ’80s, including “You Are My Lady,” “Rock Me Tonight,” and “Have You Ever Loved Somebody.”

Too many women are having to share their stories and not enough of us fellas are asking ourselves why there are so many stories to tell. If you feel called out by this, you should be looking inward. We need to do better and make sure our sons are going to do better.

Not that you asked, but... In no way do i agree with you. Deborah is beautiful and extremely talented. She is as smart as whip and a complete nerd. Also incredibly kind. How perfect she is! And a good friend. I am a fan of God of War. I for one cannot wait to play the new game with my son.

Just some closing week thoughts for you all The biggest thing is, thank you. Your response to our comms this week has injected our team with so much energy and hope, please know that The next is, I know there are a lot of questions on the how, what, when of unvaulting. Including any potential future updates to D2 and what’s beyond for Destiny There’s going to be a very intentional process for all of it that will take time. But over the next few weeks (targeting prior to the end of October) we’ll talk about what our first step is going to look like with more clarity But instead of a traditional ‘roadmap’ comms I’d rather talk about it through the lens of a progress bar. Bring you all closer, more consistently to our dev milestones. And just be transparent about any challenges we run into and show you the proof of work along the way that unlocks further understanding That way when we share a release date we’re all on the same page and have the right expectations that leads directly into how we'll further celebrate Destiny's legacy and vision for the future So, talk more soon. Keep your eyes up.

Didn't occur to me to make this clear untill someone asked but yes, the Destiny unvaulting is a free update for everyone, you do not need to have previously purchased that content (which later went f2p for a year until it was cut). And obviously you're not buying it twice

We start here. Wholeness. This isn’t simply about a steam chart or the dollars and sense of it all That said, this is just the beginning…
Gotta start somewhere. I don’t think anyone is under the illusion this one thing will spike playercount and sustain that indefinitely. It’s not live content, it’s almost symbolic, in a way. New era, new plans, new promises, etc. The key will be delivery on whatever comes after that
