Yesterday, Archbishop Paul Coakley (@ArchbishopOKC), USCCB president, and Bishop Daniel Flores (@bpdflores), USCCB vice president, met with Pope Leo XIV. They were joined by Msgr. Michael J.K. Fuller, USCCB general secretary, and Father Paul Hartmann, Associate General Secretary. Their meeting was part of the Conference’s annual visit made to the Curia offices. The USCCB is grateful for the opportunities that our bishops have to spend time with our Holy Father and assure him of our support and prayers, while also updating him on the Church in the United States.

A powerful episode today on The Habsburg Way: how to live with a spouse who doesn't share your faith.
Passing down your values is difficult enough, and it’s only more complicated when you and your spouse aren’t on the same page spiritually. But real life, of course, is complicated.
We know that many of our listeners are converts to the faith and that their spouses are still on their own journey to conversion. So what do you do, then, when you are Catholic and your spouse is Protestant? Or not even Christian? Or simply when one of you is more practicing than the other?
To answer these questions, we take a look at past Habsburg “complicated couplings” in which spouses didn’t share the same faith, either in kind or in degree. Lessons from their stories – what worked for them, and what didn’t – can provide insight into your own marriage. Whether you’re already married or hope to one day be so, the examples and warnings of these individuals can help you in charting your own course of action.
