I know this is stuff is hard to comprehend because a lot of this stuff has gone on for so long and it's such a big grey market but a brand has a right to state how far this stuff goes.
They have full and unalienable rights to derivation. You can't decide how far they're allowed to go no matter how far they went, and what they can do with it just because they did something themselves, that's their right to do.
Is it kind of weird given their branding and the stuff they get on with? Yeah. But it is their right.
Just like they don't have a right to take characters you made and purposely make them say things you disagree with to try and sell their other things. As in they can't "transform" the meaning of your brand without being entirely transformative which means the artwork is not benefiting off the existence of the brand, but the existence of the message parodying the brand. It was art with a lincolnbio to join a private discord for more porn, and that creates more of a situation than "fan art"
A hypocrite isn't telling other people not to do something they don't actually have a right to do, even if you're doing it. However, If you guys made art parodying the situation..IYKYK
After seeing this and the reply about objective morality not existing, I realized too many people have such a shitty philosophy (this person and a few others even said this was the only right answer...)
It's not deeply misunderstood if the "Definition" you guys use to say such is completely arbitrary made to treat each individual and their art as a collective box. It is more accurate to say that Art is philosophical.
From these three comments, if you think this is racist, wait until you see ME-
(Fr though, Idk why people are making it seem like rap is "real music" and VGM as lesser. I thought we learned this lesson a decade ago.)

If we're going to be honest. Games that are not allowed to have other games that are similar in play style will become stale. Look at NFL games, we used to have several franchises to choose from. Madden, Game Day, NFL Fever, Tecmo Superbowl and many others, and it was great. Now we're down to madden... EA sports has become lazy. Competition is what is needed to drive innovation in products. Poor quality is a result of no competition. There's no reason to put in the work to get eyes on your product when your the only game in town. @NintendoAmerica instead of trying to crush the competition in the courts, try beating them the old fashioned way. By making the best products. I play Nintendo because I enjoy their products, the switch fits my lifestyle. The switch 2 is a great product. Pokemon however needs help to make it a great game. I found it tedious and boring.
After looking at some of the replies, it shows that no one knows how to make an ethical environment in such creative spaces (especially when you invite lots of people). Then again, maybe I'm just looking at it with depth that has a lot of layers than people are willing to let on.
