Just to clarify, the passports shown in the post are the old versions issued by the Assad regime back in 2023. No newly designed Syrian passports have been released yet.
The previous regime engaged in numerous unethical practices, including flagrant copyright and design theft.
That said, the new official Syrian passports, which will feature the country's post-liberation visual identity, are scheduled for release soon.
What you're seeing right now is simply the older design. The current Syrian government is temporarily continuing to issue it to avoid paralyzing daily life and business while the finalized passports are prepared for rollout.
Syria's government allegedly stole a photo without credit for their passport, but they didn't notice his watermark before printing them.
Now Waseem Asmar's name is all over many in-service Syrian passports.
