The day when this happens again, I will get the newspaper framed and hung in every room of my house.

I think this series will be a big test for this reason.

Absolute SHOCKER!
Thompson was the last big MN forward, and while I expected him to potentially head somewhere other than Minnesota, I didn’t expect Michigan at all.
I’d expect now that he’s committed, the Gophers move quickly to another direction.
If he’s 50/50 for this weekend, that means he’s likely to play against Wisconsin.
I’m not overlooking Penn State by any means, but you want to have one of your best defenders on the ice against your rival that was the runner up last year.
#Gophers Brett Larson said on his radio show that defenseman John Whipple is week to week with his shoulder injury that he picked up on his last shift of game one vs North Dakota and is 50/50 for this weekend against Penn State.
The Wolves are just otherworldly. I don't even know how else to describe it.
What an incredibly well-constructed roster. So deep at every position and so fun to watch too.

The Gophers have played the toughest schedule so far and fought to get to 2-3-1.
They now have seven straight at home (against PSU, Anchorage, Wisco, and Kato) then three on the road (Kato, Notre Dame).
Have to string at least 7 wins together during that stretch.
Per @GopherGameNotes, this is the second weekend ever where the Gophers beat both UND and Iowa in one weekend.
With it being Homecoming, both teams being underdogs against Top 15 opponents, AND the women’s hockey team also getting the sweep, it doesn’t get better than this.
This is why I continue to believe PJ Fleck is the best man for the job.
He took over a program that had been mediocre since the 1960s and brought in the best recruits it’s ever had while continuing to pump out big wins.
Yesterday was just another example.
The Gophers have the Little Brown Jug, Floyd of Rosedale, and Paul Bunyan’s Axe. Having the big three is the most important thing.
BUT
They play Penn State for the Governor’s Victory Bell November 14th. They’ve never had all four at the same time. This is their best chance yet.
