Moving to Dubai doesn’t magically switch off UK tax.
I’ve had to step in for far too many people who moved on bad (or no) advice, with zero planning and ended up with six-figure UK tax bills in year one.
Wrong advice. Wrong assumptions. Very expensive mistakes.
Geography ≠ tax planning.
I appreciate this is a frequently repeated stance, but it's not entirely accurate
They took 0 in dividends for the first 10 years and have taken none since 2022
There's a period in there (2015-2022) where they took maybe £130-150m? That's not an insane amount

City's owners plowed money into the club's facilities and stadium, not just the team on the pitch whereas United are penny pinching to save for a £2bn new stadium because the owners chose to keep the club in debt and take out dividends for years and not maintain the stadium.
No one hears the irony of them saying the club is hamstrung by debt and the very next line is that they’ve spent as much as the state bank rolled Man City?
Gary Neville on the Glazers:
“They have to sell [Manchester United] now. Enough is enough.”

The full Budget document is out and a few figures from the speech were off:
• Carer's Allowance change starts 2030/31, not now
• Self-employed parental pay starts April 2029
• Triple lock change starts April 2030
• Women-led funds are £100m+, not £200m
I think we have an obsession with vanity metrics.
Most would rather earn 195k with standard cost of living being 190k than to earn 30k with standard cost of living at 5k
Increasing minimum wage creates the former. But at least we can claim we earn a lot.
