It’s probability…not destiny.
Instead of treating social conditions as predictors of inevitable problems, we need to emphasize our collective ability to redesign our surroundings and create change.

Today, my parents found out that they had been the victims of identity theft. Not by mail, as Texas DPS promised two weeks ago, but by checking their driver records. @HubertVo149 @GeneForTexas @AsianTexans @AAPIAlliance – at Providence, RI

After research found racial and gender bias in the wording of letters of recommendation, #MedEd shifted to standardized letters. This new study finds bias against Black and Asian students on these letters too, even after controlling for grades, class rank, USMLE scores, and AOA.
Standardized letters demonstrate similar racial bias to other assessment methods and residency program directors need to be aware of these limitations when assessing residency applicants bit.ly/3gOVi9s #MedEd @KemeCarter
