“Wood to Flesh” #theunbinding

“Julia”

To further my art I enrolled into a 6 week charcoal course. It begins in a week, but I was too excited to wait, so instead of opening my supplies I decided to emulate charcoal on procreate. I drew this on my phone screen with my finger in 20 minutes, so now I’m even more excited.

How could I resist?

What will their eyes witness now?

Grateful to announce that all 20 of these goblins have found their way to enter new homes, slowly haunting this planet with an ever increasing population of goblins. More to come shortly.

My mom once walked up to me while I was drawing somebody getting ripped apart, and all she did was ask, “Do you ever draw anything nice?” I spent the next 5 minutes going from staring at my drawing, to looking out the window at the birds in the trees, until I decided “nah.”

It’s infinitely satisfying to see paint bring a piece to life. I pride myself on replicating the realism shown by nature, but also distorting it to fit my means.
